You're making a joke about killing a being that is smarter than a human child with emotional and social desires that mirror our own, for no other reason than the passing pleasure you get from eating their flesh.
Anything you do causes damage to the environment. Wearing clothes, traveling, eating processed stuff. This rethoric is exhausting. Just enjoy life and stop obsessing with stupid causes.
They didn't say anything about the environment. They pointed out how unethical it is to kill an animal without even having a decent cause. Pretty straightforward and difficult to dispute.
Surely you understand that you have other healthy food options. People normally choose to eat meat due to a combination of ignorance about the torture and suffering it causes in addition to "it tastes good"
Chickens in cages so small they can't move. Males thrown in a macerator after hatching because they aren't profitable. Beaks clipped. Cows, pigs, everything in truly awful inhumane living conditions.
Nytimes had an article last year on how chickens are treated, if you don't believe me.
It's naive to think capitalism produces anything other than a "race to the bottom". It is in fact illegal to film in factory farms due to lobbying. Look into AggGag laws and what they conceal.
If your country allows for such conditions, go ahead and fight for it sure. Now I know that the stuff I eat doesn't come from this hell hole you're describing.
Why is it unethical? The animal was bred into life, raised, fed, and taken care of, so that it could be eventually killed and eaten, fullfilling the purpose for which it was bred.
What part of that was unethical? The birth that wouldn't happen if it wasn't for food? Raising, feeding, and taking care of its health, so that it can later serve as food? Or just the killing so that it serves its purpose?
1) We need to eat meat. There are various nutrients that our bodies need that only come from meat, because our bodies have specifically evolved to be omnivoroes. Meaning we need both plants and meat. And guess what, basivally nothing in the entire animal kingdom is purely vegetarian, and are instead somewhere along the spectrum.
2) Many parts of the natural world, this very thing that we live in, eats and consumes life to live. And in most cases in the natural world, the predator will choose to kill and eat the weaker prey such as babies and the elderly. Sure, through our specific circumstances, we arent in a "survival" position anymore and have the choice of what to eat. But it is a common rule that you must consume some sort of energy (usually meaning life, and yes plants are alive too) to continue to live. The argument of not eating something because of emotions and social desires is completely irrelevant, and it has been for all of existence. All living things can feel in some sort of way, thats just a fact of life. The other fact is that there will be something out there that will kill you without another single thought about your emotions or social desires.
3) Of course food brings pleasure. Sure you can argue all you want about its source. But no matter what you are going to be satisfied from food. So instead of using something that is biologically unavoidable as a shaming practice to follow your beliefs to prove you are somehow better than the rest of us, how about form a different argument.
4) Forcing beliefs upon others is probably one of the most disrespectful things you can do to another person. Doesn't matter who is "right" or "wrong". If you really think that you have a duty to say something like that, might want to check that ego of yours. Because all you are saying is "I am better than you, and you need to be exactly like me". Thats insane. Nobody will think exactly like you. And that is the beauty of this world. That there are those with varying beliefs and opinions. Its what makes us stronger as a whole. Fighting over something as trivial as what you should eat is completely pointless in the long run and only satisfies your own desire to be above others. Just leave people be, and understand what is a joke and what isn't.
I don’t know man, chicks’ requirements are getting crazy these days. I mean, spinning or sitting I understand but also shaking?? While knowing how to spin AND shake??

Youre laughing?! Someone posted a meme about not being vegan and you're laughing?!
This person thinks that the defining trait of being vegan is courage. You can smell the self importance and holier than thou-ness.
I'm not making anything you drama knothead, it's just a meme.
Brain dead take

Eating is a decent cause.

That "torture" is an hyperbole. Farmers don't go around actively torturing their cattle. That's why we can't take you guys seriously.
At least not physically..... verbally though.... 😅
This is simply not true. There have so many cases in the UK recently of farmers being caught on video doing just that.
This is that ignorance I referred to.

That's great, but you're still killing them. Likely for no reason other than "I like it". That's not very ethical, is it?
Why is it unethical? The animal was bred into life, raised, fed, and taken care of, so that it could be eventually killed and eaten, fullfilling the purpose for which it was bred.

If you’re ever awake in bed at night wondering why you don’t have any friends, this is why
You don't make friends with salad.
You do, if it's got bacon in it.
Only because I can't get the cook on children right. They just don't crisp the edges the same. Otherwise, I'd opt for the dumber species.
Some day I hope we find a way to breed even more intelligence out of the animals we eat to fix this dilemma.
Let's breed some real dumbass pigs so we can eat then without the annoyance

I like you. Thank you.
If it wasn’t bread for food, it would have never been born.
You’re suggesting it doesn’t deserve to exist?
Truly one of the most idiotic takes, and yet there's always one who says it and thinks they're clever.
Yeah, but alive, they stink like shit. Dead they smell amazing.
lol, vegans steal the animals food away from them. Disgusting.
Average SEC couple
thought i was in r/cfbmemes for a sec
Dunno guys.
Since he stopped all that bronzer he looks healthier to me…. And he didn’t even look up at the sun once.
Golf clap
Why do they always choose total pigs over me???
Have you tried learning so spin, sit, and shake?
I don’t know man, chicks’ requirements are getting crazy these days. I mean, spinning or sitting I understand but also shaking?? While knowing how to spin AND shake??

It's truly terrible what selective breeding has done to huskies 😔
Yeah they're not as aesthetically pleasing but they do taste a lot better
Apparently bred the neck out , these are “NONEKUS HUSKY”
I didn’t quite catch that, can you do it again?
That'll do, pig. That'll do.
I really enjoy agricultural videos and would like to see more of her content, if only I knew where to find it…
Just delightful 😀
That pig is living "high on the hog"...
The short thick figure has thrown the treat to me, brother.
Well trained breakfast
Distinguished gentleman of the internet, hello.
squeeze
I'm somewhat of a swine myself.
Mmmmmm, bacon!
