Unless the camera is playing tricks on me, it doesn't look like it's going anywhere in a hurry. It honestly seems about the same as my stock 08 silverado if I get a good launch. And it seems like that (probably stock) jeep kept pace with it till it had to shift. It sounds and looks super gnarly and is probably a build in progress.
Just googled it, and it seems like by NHRA rules a vehicle that runs 14 seconds or slower in 1/4 mile( or 8.6 in 1/8th mile) does not "require" a helmet or harness. Though the track may have their own rules above that. Or it could be a track that doesn't enforce safety gear rules, but that's not very common.
It's probably still a good idea to use the safety gear, though, especially if it's already installed in the vehicle.
This isn't NHRA, it is dirt drag racing. And with all due respect, you're fucking delusional if you think your stock 08 Silverado could keep up with this truck.
You are right, how foolish of me to assume that a truck with a naturally aspirated small block LS would perform anything like a truck with a (i'll assume because its literally the most common motor for these builds) naturally aspirated small block LS.
We will ignore the fact that what appears to be stock jeep kept up with it until it hit a shift point. Also the fact that a lack of requirements for helmet and harness means that truck is likely running a 14+ second quarter mile (we will have to assume, unless you can provide an ET for this truck?) While my truck stock runs roughly a 15 second quarter mile.
Also... this is like a 6 or 7 second 1/8th. Where tf are you getting 14 second quarter? Because she isnt wearing the safety equipment that clearly isnt fit for her?
You're talking to a wall. This guy is a classic bench racer, probably never been down a track. And yeah, she leaves at the 8 second mark and lifts at 2 seconds, basically a damn near 6 second flat 1/8 but you can tell she didn't go 660 feet. To do that in a full size truck would take a ton of power. Without actually being able to see the track, it really looks like dirt drags which is usually 300 feet.
NHRA rules.. you know the entity sanctions the majority of drag race events in the us, and that the vast majority of drag strips comply with rules for. Assuming the drag strip complies with these rules, if she didn't have equipment that fit correctly, she just wouldn't be allowed to run.
NHRA rules do not apply here. It's a dirt drag truck, I'd bet money on it. If you have eyes, you can see that she runs a near 6 second flat pass. To do that in the 1/8 in a full size truck, we'll say at 3500# would take roughly 800hp. This race is 300 feet, which a stock 08 Silverado will still lose badly. The Jeep she runs is definitely not "stock"
Is it 1/8 mile or 300 feet? Im definitely seeing dirt, but we dont really see the ground short of the spectator area, so I can't really tell if it's a dirt drag or not.
Her left foot is on the brake pedal. In racing, with an automatic transmission(unless you have a trans brake)you will hold the brake with your left foot and apply throttle with your right foot to "load" the torque converter. This is called foot braking.
I always called power braking when you're doing a burnout while holding the brakes. Foot braking is loading the converter without spinning the tires or rolling forward.
I am so glad that everybody in here thought this was as stupid as I did. I mean to start with that's a lot of effort to build a truck wrong. And then to add an idiot behind the wheel. And then do not have that idiot use what little safety features that are actually there. I am all down for sexy girls being sexy but fuck this.
I'm really starting to believe beauty and intelligence are inversely proportional. She's wearing none of the necessary safety gear to run at any track.... but her makeup and hair look good 🤣
Unbuckled harness, no firesuit or even a helmet.
This is some dumbass behaviour
no gloves, no net, no cage too
So stupid

Edit: spelling

The truck even has a sequential gearbox made for drag racing and bro thinks his 08 Silverado can keep up đź’€
Not a sequential trans, regular automatic transmission. Probably manual valve body powerglide or th400 using an air actuated ratchet shifter.
Look at the facts?
And what facts are you referring to?
We’re all still patiently waiting for “the facts” Mr. Facts Provider.
Presumably with no harness you still have a seatbelt?
What kind of Crack are you smoking? You are every type of delusional if you think your stock 5.3 or 4.8 is remotely close to this.
Ya the guy is delusional. My 2003 S10 could keep up though

Dirt for sure and definitely not 1/8th mile
Well yeah, electrics make all gas look slow now.
I made this same comment on the original.
Great minds think alike
I missed the harness, was focused on the helmet. Crazy with no harness.
Yup, sure is.
Eh tbf depending on her time she might not need a harness or fire suit.
Helmet...yes.
Was thinking more that the metal buckles would whip around and knock her teeth out if even a minor shunt.
Lot of stick fiddlin' for an automatic.

Exactly what I was thinking lmao what the hell she doin
Is her left foot not on a clutch? It looks like I see her releasing on the pedal like I would a clutch but I guess it could be the bake.
The only time I ever see somebody's left foot on a pedal though is when there's also a clutch.
Her left foot is on the brake pedal. In racing, with an automatic transmission(unless you have a trans brake)you will hold the brake with your left foot and apply throttle with your right foot to "load" the torque converter. This is called foot braking.
We called it power braking. Same thing though.
Not to be confused with vacuum assist brakes.
I always called power braking when you're doing a burnout while holding the brakes. Foot braking is loading the converter without spinning the tires or rolling forward.
Yah. Done that too.
Drive. Okay, neutral. Drive. N-Drive, N-R-N-Drive.
Gears work, but how is my hair, Daddy?
Check again.
People in this sub: "omg, she's accelerating to 80mph without ANY safety gear." Also people in this sub:

I don't care how much she's pretty, I'm watching this from my PC and I'm not feeling safe even from here
The hair and makeup were flawless, no helmet needed.
What’s the melting point of silicon?
2577F or 1414C for silicon.
Silicone, however, doesn't have a melting point, but it degrades around 570F or 300C.
I'm not going to lie, I just watched some fascinating physics in motion.
There is so much wrong with this I just assumed it was a tractor pull
Wow she beat a Jeep in a drag race. Like, one of the slowest, least aerodynamic vehicles made. Good job 👍
I mean she is also in a non-aerodynamic vehicle, so…
It's got a V8, though. A proper one.
I don’t think tits are ever aerodynamic. Just. Dynamic. Ohhh the truck, ha, sorry.
No helmet, lap belt only. Gotta show off the hair and make sure dem tittays aren't squished.
Safety isn't even 3rd in this video, cripes.
Dominique Toretto
No cage, helmet or suit is crazy
She's gonna look like Freddy Krueger, if she keeps this up.
LOVE IT!!!
She’s obviously overcompensating for something.
I don’t get it
Wait, why is she increasing oxygen intake....
Oh, shit. She's in a drag race!
Ooh you make my motor run, my motor run.
I am so glad that everybody in here thought this was as stupid as I did. I mean to start with that's a lot of effort to build a truck wrong. And then to add an idiot behind the wheel. Her banging the nitrous through the motor was awesome, lol.
Is there any actual drag racing that uses automatic transmissions?
Yes. Nearly all of it.
Wow, I can go fast in a straight lane, amazing!
Why on earth was she allowed to make that pass?? That track should be fined and her banned permanently. Ridiculous.
I'm really starting to believe beauty and intelligence are inversely proportional. She's wearing none of the necessary safety gear to run at any track.... but her makeup and hair look good 🤣
