What I mean is, after he resurrected and even in this moment, does he still have a human nature or not? Does he just have a God nature? Why is it that to some people God the Father revealed himself to them but to others it’s Jesus that talks to them? I know this is a stupid or unanswerable question but some might know.
Yes. He still has His glorified body.
Yes. He is gloriously united with us, his people for all eternity. It's a beautiful thought.
He is true God and true man. So yes.
Yes, he will forever serve as our high priest and intercessor, and therefore must be human.
“but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.” Hebrews 7:24-26
Insightful question. Yes, the Son of God gave up purely spiritual form forever.
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24, 1984 NIV)
However, through His unity with Holy Spirit, He has the nature and power of God. He has all faith.
This is our future, too, by the way, after we become obedient and grow in Him.
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. (Romans 8:29, 1984 NIV)
He went up to heaven with his flesh and bones.
I've been thinking about this a lot lately - if Jesus still inhabits a physical body, do you think that the last 2,000 years passed in real time for him in that body?
Yes, yet that body does not age. It will never die. In Genesis, there was more than one 'special tree'. Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, but there was another tree - the Tree of Life. God banished them from the Garden before they also ate from the Tree of Life. If they did, they'd have lived forever.
Funny, the tree of life is mentioned in the first book of the Bible, then again in the last book, The Revelation of John. It's mentioned that the tree of life is in God's paradise - his Kingdom. It bears 12 crops of fruit every month, and the leaves are produced to heal the nations. I guess God transplanted the tree. We are to get the same type of body as Jesus. Maybe that tree has something to do with it?? Who knows.... but one day we will know!
Amen! See you there!
After his resurrection he had a physical body that you could touch. He also ate food. So to me it looks like he is still in a hypostasis of both human and divine nature.
John 1 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%201&version=NIV
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome\)a\) it.
Revelation 22:16 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%2022%3A16&version=NIV
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you\)a\) this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Thessalonians%204%3A16-17&version=NIV
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
I am not sure if it is right to say nor intersect any of those things, but that's what i think might help.
May the glory of God shine through the holy spirit for you and through you.
Yes
Forever bearing the marks of his crucifixion.
To say jesus isnt human is saying he never lived an earthly life and suffered for the sins of the sins of the world
Huge emphesis on suffered because you need to be human for that
May I suggest that we are all a combination of eternal spirit and physical body. Our spirit body is like our physical body and we were born in the image or likeness of God. God the Father has a physical body as now does His only begotten Son of God in the flesh. We will also be resurrected with an eternal, glorified physical body.
Nope. Wrong. God the Father does not have a physical body as Jesus.
