Toyota ranked 8th of 18th in Car App Satisfaction

Surprised it's that high. They are within 25 points of second to last.

Agreed. I was going to guess 26th out of 25

It’s more or less how crappy must car manufacturers’ apps are. They are car producers first and tech companies 2nd.

It’s also challenging since ppl are keeping their cars longer and the app got to support old and new cars. I can see new solutions but also increase cost and new headaches to deal with.

I would debate your second sentence. Toyota doesn't make airbags so they hire a third party vendor to be an expert in air bag manufacturing.

They can and should do the same thing with technology implementation.

Must be a low standard. It's top 5 worst apps installed on my phone.

That was my thought. Who are these “satisfied” customers? What about this app leaves them satisfied?

Ain’t paying 15$/month this app is useless.

I pay $15 but only from Dec-March. I live in NY and use it to heat up. I figure $16/month, (with tax) is $4/week. And I'm worth the $4/week to be toasty in the winter.

Remote starter (that we already paid for) locked behind a monthly fee is diabolical, and anyone buying into it is the problem

I like it, i have it for my Tacoma and Camry.

It comes down to the fact that every car company only wants to deliver the bare minimum to keep up with competition. It’s not that they couldn’t make a better app or a car interface, it’s that they don’t want to invest until they must.

The most disappointing aspect of Toyota is that it could be just as good as the Lexus app. It’s not even a question of investing into app development, it is simply changing the name.

On top of all that most car companies are trying to give subscriptions to their system, while stripping android and CarPlay. If they are not willing to invest into the app and the infotainment then at least don’t block the companies that lead the market in Ui development.

That has to be lower now after the most recent update

Recent update removed the 10 recent trips 😬

When it comes to Apps, they need to list version and models it’s effective for. I have an older model car and I don’t know what their app is for and it sucked when it was new.

Not surprised. Glad I can use CarPlay in my Toyota.

    Low standards, I’ve deleted it

Only buying it in the winter for the heat. It's garbage to use otherwise

I’ll take the car satisfaction over app every day

Yeah, but we could have both.

Why can’t they be like ford and just make it permanently free to remote start and lock and unlock your car

    parent

I’m surprised ford is so far down on the list. The app for my ford maverick has been simple and relatively bug free. And free to use.

Every couple of days you have download a digital key (Toyota). This is so you can use your phone to do remote tasks with the car…really? A waste of my time and I won’t be paying for any of this nonsense after the trial period is over. The Navi is nowhere near as good as Google Maps or Apple Maps. Next you won’t be able to use the car at all without paying a monthly subscription.
