There are a few areas that look like they could be orange but I can’t tell if she’s a tabby or a torbie. My mum’s cat, about 12 years old.

  • Please encourage your mum to get this kitty to lose some weight! She's beautiful but she's rather obese, and it could be very harmful to her

  • Yes she is. She’s a black tortoiseshell spotted (or broken mackerel?) tabby. She’s beautiful and I say this with kindness, it would really benefit her to lose some weight <3

    Spotted indeed 👍

  • Kind of tough to tell but the toe beans usually don’t lie. Does she have patchy pink and black toe beans?

    Regardless, she is beautiful 🤩🥰

Edit: I am leaning towards yes, though!

Just checked and she does have mixed toe beans! Pink and black kind of speckled

She has a red stripey patch on her hind leg—that was the clearest spot for me

  • She is a beautiful girl!

  • I thought you stole my cat for a sec 😅

  • I would say mostly Tabby, maybe 20% Torbie pattern overall

  • Yes, very clear red patches in that tabby coat :)

All this time I was telling myself my outdoor torbie girl had just really bright orange patches 😂

Same diff! Red is meant as in humans :)

  • Please tell me this precious girl is on a diet! I say this with love as someone with a torbie that was fat since the beginning (there are a lot of indicators that she might have some hormonal imbalance so that plays into it too) and it took me a while to learn what cats are supposed to weigh in order to live a healthy and long life… it’s hard because you want to spoil them and give them everything but it’s totally doable! 🙌🏼🩷 Give this sweet girl some scritches from me!
