Unlikely. Walking around with a service dog already outs someone as disabled. If you happen to run into the one ICE agent with two brain cells to rub together, they could figure it out very quickly, in most cases.
Pre-trump in the 90s ICE= in case of emergency. I remember my first cell phone my parents put their contacts in and ICE by their names in case anything happened to me, one works for ups the other in a office lol
Mine is set like this too - I wonder if it is it still a thing emergency services professionals know to look for? It seems like a good idea, but maybe it's out of date.
Hello :) yeah when I first saw the bag I was concerned something happened, but they might have also given it away due to the major association of the ICE now
lol why? It’s an easy way for emergency response personnel to know not to separate the handler and dog should the handler be rendered unconscious or unable to communicate.
This bag looks like it was made for someone who suffers syncopal episodes and may need this information to be visible while they are unconscious. Think before judging.
It's not for the actual animal. It's for the handler In Case of Emergency. It likely has their personal supplies and items in it. Not sure why you're being so weird about it.
I'm noting that should this person be handling a trained service animal, they would not need this bag. This is not something that designates a medical condition, nor would it be meaningful to first responders. It's signal to noise.
People need to stop pretending that writing something on a tote bag makes it meaningful.
So you have nothing you own with words on it? People buy fandom merch, bags and clothes with phrases, apparel with funny phrases about their job… what’s the harm if someone wanted this? Also… “legitimate service animals? As opposed to illegitimate ones? How does a random patron know that a random dog that may or may not have a vest or collar or leash denoting they’re a service animal is actually a service animal. If you saw some random person passed out on the street with a dog next to them, it could be a junkie, a bum, a jogger taking a nap, someone having a medical emergency… you don’t know. How can YOU tell what is or is not a “legitimate service animal”
lol but it’s something people identify with and may buy clothing or other stuff with phrases about them. I have a sweater that says “filled with anxiety” and another that says “if you can’t make your own serotonin, store bought is fine” because I am diagnosed with both major depression and anxiety/panic disorder lmfao.
I'm not an EMT /anymore/ but the good Samaritan act would cover an informed attempt to try some basics as long as they aren't life threatening
But seriously,.you never know who you're talking to online
I moved on to a job that paid enough to live on, instead of something that paid in monster and bad joints. "Is the patient on a medication" is literally a part of a good medical history (sample). If there's insulin in their bag, someone's seizure might be related to diabetes and that's generally a good thing to rule out, as one of many examples.
If you searched that bag and, for instance, found a bottle of aspirin and, for some reason, decided that was the issue (maybe the issue is actually the sucking chest wound), then yeah, it could kill them. That's more or less what's going on here, unless I'm severely misunderstanding what you're saying?

In case of emergency
That's not gonna stop them. Not like they can read.
ICE = In Case of Emergency…
That’s not going to stop the redditors. It’s not like they can read.
Literally: "Noem’s rush to bolster ICE’s members means applicants who can ‘barely read or write’ are being accepted"
Pre-current reign of terror, ICE was a more common acronym for “in case of emergency”
Ohhhh thanks for that explanation. I was like, thats a very current embroidered request to already be in a thrift shop!!
that might be why it was donated
😬
Unlikely. Walking around with a service dog already outs someone as disabled. If you happen to run into the one ICE agent with two brain cells to rub together, they could figure it out very quickly, in most cases.
This also explains it being donated

I wonder if this is my sign that I should change my emergency contacts from ICE Husband’s Name to just Husband’s Name…
Mine is set like this too - I wonder if it is it still a thing emergency services professionals know to look for? It seems like a good idea, but maybe it's out of date.
You should have an emergency contact setting on your phone itself that you can add people to. Or list them as hubby or something.
ICE in its current form has been around and murdering people since GW Bush. Glad it's getting more attention bc of Trump though
What does trumps ice stand for
Murder
But really, Immigration and Customs Enforcement
I mean it still means that in common parlance across most of the English speaking world.
it's been there for months lol
hello local :)
Hello :) yeah when I first saw the bag I was concerned something happened, but they might have also given it away due to the major association of the ICE now
If it was today's ICE they'd go ahead and shoot the dog ..and the person.
They'll helicopter Kristi Noem to do the job herself.
Noem would make it a point to put the dog down.
I.C.E. is old ealry cell phone lingo for "In Case (of) Emergency".
Now I have to go change my Emergency contacts to stop saying ICE
There are so many slow people in here 🥲 please don’t vote
I guess ICE finally got her dog.
Upvoted but that made me sad
it most likely meant in case of emergency rather than ICE
Those people would be really upset If they knew how to read!
It means internal combustion engine

Average r/nationalguard poster, womp womp
Don't even bother replying. He's either a bot or very dumb.
We needa start totally ignoring these posters.
Lol he also said I responded in "seconds" when there is 4 min between our comments. 😂
Edit: LOL he was a person because he realized this isn't r/conservative and he was getting downvoted. 🤣 Buncha babies.

I viscerally hate the person who got this made.
Edit: I got sent Redditcares messages. Dudes, there's nothing that says you wish you had a partner to belittle like running to Redditcares.
lol why? It’s an easy way for emergency response personnel to know not to separate the handler and dog should the handler be rendered unconscious or unable to communicate.
Service dogs don't need custom embroidery to be identified.
This bag looks like it was made for someone who suffers syncopal episodes and may need this information to be visible while they are unconscious. Think before judging.
I'm thinking and judging.
Legitimate service animals don't need custom fits.
It's not for the actual animal. It's for the handler In Case of Emergency. It likely has their personal supplies and items in it. Not sure why you're being so weird about it.
I'm not being weird.

Medical diagnoses are not fucking fandoms.
Emotional dysregulation and rage is not logic.

Are you on roids?
😂
Do you think that this is a funny question?
...The information about the medical condition is probably on a med alert bracelet. Are you for real?
So then there is no need for the bag. None.
That's why it's gross.
How big do you think a med alert bracelet is?
This is something that the handler would carry, not an outfit for the dog.
Yeah ngl, this seems like something that'd be helpful to note in case of emergency and there might be meds in there (I'd look)
You're not an EMT and that could kill the person who decided to carry this.
I'm not an EMT /anymore/ but the good Samaritan act would cover an informed attempt to try some basics as long as they aren't life threatening But seriously,.you never know who you're talking to online
I think this person has a bug up their ass.
I'd buy that
I understand why you are no longer an EMT if you take things written on people's bags as medical advice.
Oh my God, you went through people's stuff without being expressly told to do so by their bag?
This is why this is a stupid bag.
Well, that's enough arguing on the Internet for me. I hope you have a better evening than you're having.
Okay. Thank you for your passive aggression. May it bring you exactly the amount of joy you wish upon me.
How would it kill a person who actually has a medical issue and a service dog?
In fairness, if you found meds in there and it was an unrelated issue, applying those meds could potentially make things worse.
Uh. That's not even remotely what's going on here though...?
lmfao yeah now i’m convinced you talk to people like this behind that screen because you can’t and would never do it irl 🤣😂
If you searched that bag and, for instance, found a bottle of aspirin and, for some reason, decided that was the issue (maybe the issue is actually the sucking chest wound), then yeah, it could kill them. That's more or less what's going on here, unless I'm severely misunderstanding what you're saying?
Do you think a regular person is going to go through the bag and start giving meds willy nilly to an unconscious person?
I was referring to good Samaritan cases and trying to come up with something ridiculous so that someone wouldn't come up and say "well ackshulllly"
