I do remember when something like this info came out (like from actual science) but it’s something like kids and the elderly and people with weaker immune systems were less likely to get the worst versions. People with stronger immune systems had the added trouble of their immune system attacking their lungs instead of the virus (or being imprecise and catching lungs with the virus?).

It didn’t say those groups couldn’t catch it or that they couldn’t be severely ill for other reasons. It was just unusual in the way it turns your immune system against you.

Ask any parent when they stopped getting sick as much. It'll be around when the youngest kid was in highschool. My step son was a typhoid Mary, he shuttled diseases back and forth between our house and his bio mom. He very rarely got sick himself. Brought me pneumonia once lol.

    Edit, autocorrect

Ask any parent when the family starts getting sick more often, it’s when the oldest kid starts going to school. My sister’s family was sick every other week when her oldest started kindergarten .

We have now book-ended the subject lol

Yeah, except instead of books it’s vomit, diarrhea and snot.

That's super fucking accurate. I was also about to say that kids spread EVERYTHING.

Better yet, work in a school and see how long before they get sick!

So, wait, if kids can’t get or pass Covid from other kids or adults…. Are they saying kids can’t get Covid at all?

Also - wouldn’t masks prevent the virus from getting into my eyes from somebody who was infected if they were wearing one? Or do you just get Covid by looking at somebody with it?

Well, to be fair, I work in healthcare and we did (and still do) wear face shields or goggles when dealing with COVID patients.

    parent
    3 points Andreiisnthere

I work in healthcare and wear masks around COVID patients, and flu patients, RSV patients and strep patients. Also those we suspect of having any of the above. And since we have had all of the above (except COVID) weekly for the last 2 1/2 months, I’m pretty much wearing a mask most of the day. I love peds, but it’s been a cesspit of infection this year and it’s not getting better yet. So far I’ve had 1 case of strep and 1 of RSV diagnosed this morning. Plus asthma and allergies are off the charts where I live.
