That’s what I’ve always been confused about. I know TURVs mean it as an exclusionary insult but trans women are literally adult human females. Like if you look up woman in any of the highly regarded dictionaries (Oxford, Cambridge, etc.) it explicitly includes trans women as “adult human females”.

I ❤️ trans and am agender, but I personally use “female” when I need to refer to sex, which is usually for medical conversations because there are different biological functions for male and female. sometimes there is a need to differentiate. for example, everyone who gets a period is female, but some men get periods too. they’re just men with uteruses.
But what is a female?
99.99999999% the case that these two congresswomen for sure have talked shit about trans people and the need to “protect REAL women” and there’s probably enough evidence of them being born female but of course that isn’t enough for transphobes as anyone who doesn’t look like a pornstar who’s gone through 10,000 cosmetic surgeries is a man.
