I just watched globs video and I feel like if I was a dedicated player I would be so scared the game was gonna shut down. It seems like it barely makes enough to even keep itself running.
It's been running on very few players for more than a decade. With the influx of new/returning players from Glob's video, they're doing even better. No one is getting rich off There.com, but I also don't think There.com will be shutdown for financial reasons anytime soon.
I agree, it is still secure and I am not worried. With the owner investing his time and money in creating a version that runs on Apple, I see commitment to not give it up so easily. The reason it shut down before was because of perverts, preditors, pedos, and griefers that made it hard for staff to protect children. With the monthly fee, this is no longer a problem for staff.
It is still becoming more every day, with every new person. The premise was and is to allow users to create content and their own games to share with friends. This is still happening with new content each and every day. No other virtual place allows this amount of immersive creativity.
I am more afraid of big Tech getting so greedy that the whole world collapses into chaos. Big gaming companies are already pricing themselves out of the market and demanding more and more $$$ to level up in progression. See this ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lE94gPi_UqI
I can’t imagine the servers cost too much to keep going at this point and I don’t know if they have any employees on the payroll? Though it’s still hard to believe they’re making enough revenue for it to be worth it.

I wonder the same
This game could’ve and could still be so much more. I really hope it gets saved.
