  • I am not really a blue virtual cat IRL. I am a dog. A basset hound to be precise 🐶

  • I'm pretty sure I have some form of prosopagnosia, or face blindness. I have a hard time recognizing celebrities, and it's almost impossible for me to recognize people if I see them outside where I know them - for instance, running into people I know from work while I'm at the grocery store. Unless I've worked with them for a really long time, chances are they will have to tell me who they are and where I know them from before it clicks. It's actually really frustrating and embarrassing, and I hate it soooo much, but there's absolutely nothing that can be done about it.

I have have the very same issue! Wow!! And yes, it's super embarrassing. The only thing that helps me is to make up silly rhymes about the person. Like "Claire, Claire. She's so fair, and she has stringy hair" 🤣

I didn’t know this was a thing. If I see someone that I know I HAVE to call them by their first name immediately or I won’t remember their name. Immediately and Not even after 10 seconds or it’s gone !

  • I can shoot water from eyes.

  • My cousin, who I will call Danuta, is hearing impaired and very active in my city's deaf community. I was at her house one day and saw a brochure on her desk. I was just getting into graphic design so I asked her if she would mind if I reworked it a little bit.

Instead of reworking it a little bit, I went crazy. I spent about 8 hours doing all kinds of fun things with it. I didn't make it look gaudy or anything like that. I just did some research to make sure it followed the basic rules of design. I was pretty proud of it when I returned it to her.

The next thing I knew, I got a call from the Deaf Services Center asking for my permission to use my new design for their next brochure publication! They even offered to give me design credit on the back cover!

For reference, these make the atomic bomb in world war II look like a firecracker. So I licked it.

    Huge congrats!!!!

  • I was once bit by a monkey

I'll be honest - years ago I watched some horror movie about a monkey that turned on his disabled owner, and they have freaked me out every since!

  • I don't know what an Epona is, but from your username I'm guessing you're a mother to one or more of them. I bring this up because if you're a mom, you know how moms are about telling anybody who will listen every little detail about their children.

My mother is no exception. She tells this story everywhere she goes, even to strangers. If she's at the hair salon waiting to be seen, she will tell the person sitting next to her. People always act interested, but to this day, I don't know if they're just being polite. Is it really interesting, or are people just humoring her)

It's a story of coincidences. My mother had one sister, three years younger than she. In turn, my mother and her sister had two daughters, three years apart (one of these daughters was me and one was my sister).

When my sister and I got married married and had children, although it happened in different years, we both had two daughters and both of them were three years apart.

Some would say that story in itself is interesting, but that's not the end of the coincidences. My sister was born on the 1st of January and I was born on the 1st of February (different years, obviously). We each married men who were 5 years our senior, and both of their birthdays were at the end of January and the end of February, matching our respective birth months. And if that weren't enough, here's the clincher? They both had the same first name.

So, what's the verdict? Is it really interesting, or is it just Mom Bragging?

Talk about coincidences!!!! Thanks for sharing that!

I have a 12 year old daughter, and 21 year old son, so yes, I am a Mom.

I chose Epona here, because not only 8s she the Celtic Goddess of Horses - I have horses and donkeys - but in Legand of Zelda games, Epona was Zelda's horse that she gave to Link.

    Yes, I'm a gaming nerd.

Epona was also the username unused to use in chatrooms back in the 90's. Haha.

    So, there ya go!

  • When I was 16 years old, I found out that the "dad" I had known my entire life had actually adopted me when he married my mother. I was three years old at the time, so I had no memory of any other father in my life.

It explained a lot of things from my childhood, like why he grossly favored my two siblings (a younger brother who was born just after he and my mother were married, and a younger sister born three years after him), who were his biological children. I won't go into detail, but I will say that all my life I felt like a literal red-headed stepchild.

My mother had a friend she had known since high school who was very close to my family. In fact, I grew up thinking she was my aunt because she was around the house all the time, taking me places, buying me presents. I always felt like she favored me just a little bit, and now I know why. She was trying to compensate for this slights she saw me endure from Mom's husband.

The day I found out, I called her immediately, because I knew she had connections to my biological father and his family. All of them had grown up in the same town, gone to school together, and therefore known each other for years. I told her that I had finally discovered the truth, and she agreed to take me to meet my first family.

Long story short, they were overjoyed to be reunited with me and welcomed me with open arms. I moved to their part of the state and integrated with them and my new brothers and sisters. I've never been happier.

  • I've never ever had a birthday party. Ever

Then you need need come back here on your birthday, so that we can celebrate YOU!!

  • I used to "rule" the exclusive r/lounge

    Quite the bragging rights!!

  • When I was younger I had friends but my mom always forced me to go with those who were alone, I never appreciated it until now

  • I am going through a difficult phase of my life, good thing I'm very hopeful, wish me good luck people

  • I grew up in a small town (Approx 700-900 people in rural nowhere). Now at 59 I have been to 21 different countries and been in the Newspaper for cooking in foreign countries.

  • I'm an aerialist and a senior citizen

Ok, you're hella cool. Holy smokes, I struggle to roll over in bed at times, and here you are doing amazing things with a hoop and rope. How many years have you been doing that for?

  • Moving to another country, away from my friends and family, was one of the most difficult and yet most rewarding things I have ever done.

That was very brave of you!

  • I learned how to fly a plane at 16 instead of driving a car. 10 years later I still don't have my driver's license but put me in a cockpit and the sky is mine.

At 18, I became CPR, First Aid, and Search & Rescue certified and worked with my state's S&R team a couple of times to locate missing hikers. I was in the comms trailer at HQ and my dad was in the planes as an aerial photographer. Everyone we've searched for, we found. Only 1 mission where we found the body of the missing hiker. We brought him home for a proper burial and closure to his family.

I'm the first woman in my biological family to graduate high school. My father was the first and my younger half-sister was next after me.

I'm now 26 and a self-employed genealogist and beginner homemaker. I want to follow the women before me and even though we struggle, my man and I make it work.

Ok, I'm going to totally age myself here, but have you ever watched the show Murder, She Wrote, with Angela Lansbury? I've seen every episode multiple times - I used to watch it with my Grandmother.

Anyway, in the show, Jessica Fletcher (played by Angela Lansbury) doesn't have a Driver's license, but she does have her pilot, 's license.

And, you should be super proud of yourself!!!

  • About five months after I graduated high school, I crushed the tip of a finger working in a coal mine. Á partial amputation is not fun.

No, I guess not. I bet you have a really cool scar though!

  • I have joined up toes. I do actually swim like a fish lol

Wow, that is unique! Do you have trouble finding comfy shoes?
