i got stupid drunk on christmas so my throat was kind of on fire making this but i needed to upload a song to some friends asap bc we’re forming a band, so i picked folk song! very fr and delicate & not too harsh. recorded this with an iphone in a bathroom & tried to fix the quality as best i could. there are some parts to this song i think i was kind of out of tune but i feel weird abt using autotune. hope u like :3 this is my first time ever posting a cover. i tried to make the link shareable via link but lemme know if it isn’t accessible.

  • You've got a beautiful voice!

omg thank u so much for listening :)) i wish i could take vocal lessons

  • I was literally listening to Folk Song as I opened this thread. Well done! Your voice is brilliant and would be even better with a quality recording. Bet on yourself!

    thank you :))

  • That was lovely. Post more with a better microphone!

you got jt ;) i’ll try to cover the sundays on an open mic night someday

  • it's pitchy, but still 1,000 times better than i could ever do. Your voice is actually somewhat similar, and if you learned control and variation, and you faked a british accent, you might blow someone away. Harriet's accent plays a huge role in her vocal likeability

pitchy is a good way to put it! i felt the same- definitely something i could work on so i very much appreciate the feedback. my head voice was kind of blocked from my vocal cords being a bit inflamed. I LOVEEE harriet’s accent

One more note I forgot to add: I personally enjoyed listening to it! And I'd like to hear you do other tunes of theirs as well, so keep me posted if you decide to. I'm a massive Sundays fan, and of all the covers I've heard on the internet, you're voice comes closest. You're soooo close when you hit the high notes, and a little polish is all it needs. My advice: seek out quality vocal training and polish up what you have already. If you can't afford it, I would say you can't afford not to, you've got the potential. Take a chance on yourself. Best wishes, 2026 could be your year... just saying.

thank you, this made my night. i think my university may have a singing course, i have been wanting to try in the fall or in the summer. if i were to do more sunday’s covers, i’ve always wanted to do a certain someone, love, and can’t be sure!
