I actually like Hasan a lot and I think Kirk was impactful in terms of playing a roll on the intensity of Right-wing rhetoric. You say it's not impactful but I disagree. Look up manufactured consent or Debord’s "Spectacle". The people who have the attention of mass amounts of people do matter. Not in every case mind you- but when you have the literal President getting involved and spending entire days remembering assholes like Kirk- and calling him an MLK-esq figure- that shit isn't inconsequential. It starts to matter for sure. It's good to know the temperature of the room and have an understanding of who is being dehumanized by these people.

I didn't hate Charlie Kirk, I barely knew of his existence before he died, all I knew him from was a few youtube shorts, most of my family didn't know who he was at all. You could say Kirk helped get Trump elected, so did many other political commentators, Kirk was not unique there. You could say Kirk did public events where he reached across the isle to debate, he's not unique there either, Shapiro has done that, Knowles has done that, hell Crowder was doing that when Kirk was just 19 and still founding his company. There's nothing unique about him enough for me to majorly hate him. I can see why his legacy has devolved into ai generated memes because he was replaceable and anyone could say the same things as him, most of these commentators probably won't be remembered very well in 100 or even maybe 80 years, Kirk will just because of his assassination.
