Most of the engagement I saw with it from artists was constructive and supportive. A lot of, "Man yeah that angle is tough. Keep working at it, we all started like this" or tips on how to construct that angle and make it look more natural. When it blows up so much, obviously not everyone is going to be nice, but I hope that most people were trying to laugh with the OP rather than at them. Can't imagine having that many eyes on your work unexpectedly is a great time regardless, but not much you can do about accidentally going viral.
