• Or he's a fan of "Carousel" by Rodgers and Hammerstein.

    Or Gerry and Pacemakers :-)

Its cracking song, either way. And this coming from ManUtd fan, who detest everything Liverpool otherwise. Not this song though.

Yeah but he should be dead for the Carousel thing IIRC ... :)

Perhaps they're doing better 400 years in the future, or maybe got relegated to the bottom of the entire football pyramid.

The Orville takes place in a post-capitalist/post-scarcity society.

Most people no longer care about sports because there's no money to be made, and thus less incentive to care about who's "the best".

  • My grandfather was a diehard Liverpool fan, and was so upset when I of my three brothers was a Chelsea fan, the only I'm the family. At his funeral, you'll ever walk alone was played as he was brought in and I've always felt the swellings of emotion whenever I hear the song... But when I first heard Bortus singing it on my all time favourite show completely out of the blue, I was so overcome with emotion I burst into tears, something my partner had never really seen from me before. In explaining it to her, we both carried on throughout the episode and once it was over, rewinded it back to sing along with Bortus in honour of my grandfather, who's signature I have tattooed on my arm for good luck and as a badge of honour

  • Nah, obviously a Celtic fan

  • Song was around a century before Liverpool started singing it
