on season 6 and i think it’s just so cute how much the kids call her mom. she’s never forced it or told them to, but it’s done so naturally. the most surprising person who does it quite often is brighton, which i find interesting especially since he’s 16/17 when they marry and the fact gracie has taken the most from fran out of the three kids (but they all have in their own ways). my favorite part is when sara’s parents came to visit and they did karaoke with her, they love fran so much!!!!
edit: funny continuity error from the later seasons, canonically by s6 maggie should be 19 but they age her up to 21???
I love how Maggie refers to Maxwell and Frans her parents even though Maggie is over 18 and can’t be legally adopted by Fran.
even when the adoption was in talks of being contested maggie assured fran that she would still see her as her mom, but she wanted to make sure they were legally protected if something happened happened to brighton and gracie… i love fran and maggie’s relationship
Actually, she can. Granted I don't know how New York state law works but if that's something Maggie wants and is willing to go through, then it]s something that can happen. It happened to my older sister several years ago (I'm 30 currently).
The best was when Brighton explained that the reason he didn’t want her to go to college visits was because other guys were making sexual comments about her and he was like ‘you’re my mom now, I have to protect you.’
I think they felt like she was their mom pretty much since they met her
