I think it's sweet; clearly the role meant a lot to him. Emilia Clarke did something similar for GoT/Daenerys.

From what I've read on him, he seems to be very much anti Netanyahu and anti genocide. He just happens to be born in Israel. Doesn't mean he's necessarily a supporter of the far-right policies and colonization going on...
I'd obviously revise my opinion of him if someone had a source on him supporting the genocide or colonization
In Hebrew-language interviews, he comes across as quite ambivalent and reflective upon his time in the IDF. đ¤ˇââď¸
He was constantly posting conspiracy theories at the beginning of this war saying that the bombing from IDF was actually Hamas. I stopped following him then and checked back recently and all his posts were gone.
there have been multiple occasions of rockets from the PIJ (another terrorist group in the area) for example, misfiring their rockets and killing a fair few people in gaza. most famously the al ahli hospital, which got blamed on israel initially, news ran with it, by the time it was found to be false and apologised, too late, everyone still thinks it was the idf. So that may have been what he was talking about. Just a guess though
I don't know any Hebrew, so I wouldn't know đ Do you have any interviews that back that up?

Donât you kinda have to serve in the IDF if youâre an Israeli citizen?
Yes, it's mandatory.
I know the ultra conservatives can get out of it but Iâm assuming you kinda have to prove that
Ultra-Orthodox. They are ultra-conservative, but itâs religion, not politics, that gets them out of service.
I had just woke up when I wrote this I meant orthodox not conservative

I mean I canât get around the paywall but the first sentence in the article that guy linked quotes from him that Bibi is a âpiece of shitâ and âthe main person responsible for the greatest failure we have ever knownâ I canât imagine this is in reference to anything other than the ongoing situation in Gaza.
And I donât really see what the hangup is on not criticizing the IDF specifically. Thatâs like complaining that someone didnât criticize the US Navy effectively enough for blowing up boats off the coast of Venezuela when Trump and Hegseth are to blame.
Very United States assumption of you to make. You absolutely cannot serve in the IDF then go around Israel trashing the IDF unless youâre curious about disappearing in the middle of the night and not being seen again.

It's possible that he may have done reprehensible things when in the IDF. But it's mandatory to join as long as you live in the country. It's the very reason a many leftist Israelis leave the country when they come of age (same as in Turkey, Korea, and many other countries with military service...). As a consequence, they lose their voting rights, however, and may never return to their home country without potentially facing prison.
What I mean: joining the IDF because you have to doesn't mean you support the army... We should definitely criticize the IDF. Not sure the same goes for the many soldiers (among which a lot of Arabs, Druzes etc.) who were forced to join.
Then why is he so fucking proud about that?
I've yet to see an interview where he says he is. If I see such a statement, again, I'd obviously revise my opinion of him. As of right now, I've only heard people talk about it, but without any quotes...

What are you talking about, mate? I'm saying, just as you are, that if he indeed supports the IDF, he's a piece of shit. I've just yet to see a text where he says he supports it.
He was born in Israel and served in the IDF. He has also publicly criticized Netanyahu's actions and policies. Maybe he's pro-Israel because he's an Israeli, and you're just antisemitic.
There it is. That defense won't work anymore
people of colour can rightfully call certain things racist and they're believed, gay people can call things homophobic and they're believed, but whenever a jew calls something antisemetic "erm no it isnt, you're abusing that defence"

Some of these comments show just how much hate regular isrealis get for simply existing, doesn't even have to be a soldier or anything like that. Xenophobia isnt ok unless its israel apparently.
