We constantly hear about how strong MM is for an average person in the early seasons. I don't get why "one has more military training than the other" seems to be the only talking point. To me they seem pretty average matched. MM has the combat/survival skills to use his strength effectively, and Doakes most likely has the combat skill to protect himself and find opportunities. Theres no one clear winner
Nah he’s actually full on natural born Supe in the comics (albeit it’s a lot less rare) . Straight up punched a dudes head off in a boxing match while in the military lol .
What I think you’re getting confused with is his dependency on his moms … milk cause of the radiation he received from her working at a Vaught plant while in-utero .
In an even fight with prep time then MM; he comes prepped for the fight and has balls of fucking titanium. But if it’s a surprise motherfucker, then Doakes no question.
M.M worked in a prison having wannabe gangsters calling him Mr Milk and sir with a silly name like Milk. That’s a type of aura that just can’t be explained I’m afraid.
He was a combat medic, so he knows some stuff from that, but I think his real skills developed when he was working with the CIA under Mallory. I doubt he’d be considered if he wasn’t a capable fighter; even though that wasn’t the reason they recruited him.
I think it’s implied that he knows how to lead people and inspire, at least that’s what I remember from the earlier seasons. Plus his role on the show has always been to balance Butcher and go against him on some things.
He did handle A-Train very well and I think the actors worked really well together, I wish we have seen more of that really.
Combat wise, don’t think there is a lot but they are not fighting regular people are they.
I would say Doakes is muscle but MM is the brain and more intelligent.
He was confident enough to consider attacking Soldier Boy knowing full well he would get turned into paste immediately, plus the handful of times he squared up he took on a boxing stance so chances are he has at least some hand to hand experience.
He was military and then a special agent of sorts so he would 100% know how to fight. The Soldier Boy scene was just trauma and hatred emerging and the fact that he was ready to fight says he is no coward.
MM gotta be the worst character in the show. The fast guy is bad too and that new smart woman character is AWFUL. Also didn’t like the guy who played Gus from breaking bad.
Also did NOT like Doakes in Dexter at all. Wish they would have replaced him with a better actor like Ryan Gosling or Michael Keaton
