I’m getting feudal Japan vibes. This would be PERFECT for the scene in Crouching Tiger where they’re riding across the grassland countryside on horseback with beautiful hills/mountains in the background. Too perfect.
I closed my eyes and let the music create a scene. I saw an alien desert planet with sand blowing peacefully. The game could be an exploration of this planet, so it could be titled Escape to Sombyr.
I saw it as a background soundtrack to a seal team 6 type TV show where they are overseas and day is just turning to dusk........something something /end
I’m getting vibes more akin to an intro for a feudal Japan period piece. This would be PERFECT for the scene in Crouching Tiger where they’re riding across the grassland countryside on horseback with beautiful hills/mountains in the background.
Yep, it's a trautonium, invented the same year as the theremin. The resistor ribbon controls pitch as you slide left and right, and the whole thing is on a metal bar that you can push down on to control volume.
Love love love this, thanks for posting. Hope this comes out in a full form somewhere, I need to hear the full finished product. OMG. Now I am dying to hear it.
It's sounds a bit like a slowed version of the Hababam movies intro music(Turkish), in the movie at sad parts it is a slowed down and this sounds a bit more slowed
Background music that plays as David Tennant spirals into a breakdown in a new BBC detective series where the former Dr Who battles alcoholism while desperately trying to find his kidnapped ex wife.
Thanks for posting, u/PlenitudeOpulence!

I’ve seen Moby in so many videos recently, is he making a big comeback or something?
This sounds a bit like movie music so maybe for a movie?
I was wondering if that was Moby
I think it’s actually a guy named LudoWic. This is another video of him playing. Pretty sure this is the same guy. trautonium ludowic
I thought it was Nosferatu
He can get stomped by Obie
Its Moby
This is Ludowic, not Moby.
Big comeback? I never left.
r/obscuremusicthatslaps
That shit is AWESOME.
What is this instrument?
Trautonium
this should be top comment given the title lol
This sounds like it could be a good intro instrumental to any action movie
I saw it as a background soundtrack to a seal team 6 type TV show where they are overseas and day is just turning to dusk........something something /end

Does the section played with his right hand just consist of one solid piece without frets or keys?
Like a Theremin?
Interesting device

Thanks for this informative response.
Good to know I'm not as mad as I thought.
The artist is LudoWic

Some cinematic/soundtrack music!
I love that.
The song at the start, before the second part kicks in, sounds incredibly familiar.
It sounded very familiar to me too. I immediately thought something by Radiohead. Maybe Pyramid Song?
Everything in its right place
Reminds me of something from the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack
Kronos Quartet
It's sounds a bit like a slowed version of the Hababam movies intro music(Turkish), in the movie at sad parts it is a slowed down and this sounds a bit more slowed
https://youtu.be/NM9Hb2NXfWU
Sounds a bit like the intro Some Chords by Deadmau5
I am not about to show this to my spouse.
He already plays too many expensive things!!!
It just sounds like Radiohead and I’m here for it!
Reminds me of Rush Hemispheres album
Background music that plays as David Tennant spirals into a breakdown in a new BBC detective series where the former Dr Who battles alcoholism while desperately trying to find his kidnapped ex wife.
Cloud Atlas vibes
Isnt it just like a synthesized cello?
Right? Sounds just like a cello
I had no idea moog made a touch sensitive ribbon controller im sure it’s only $200k
Ondes martenot? (or some modern facimile?)
It's a trautonium, invented the same year as the ondes martenot, played through one of the ondes martenot's resonating speakers
Kid cudi wya
Stanley Kubrick put this guy’s kids through college!
Sounds like an accordion
Saving for later
A lot of stuff for a cello
This is beautiful...
Would be nice to know what it's called
Trautonium
Thanks!. I seriously thought you were just making up silly words about fish metal or something.
Sounds like the music you'd hear in a trailer for a new HBO drama.
Any instrument can put you in a trance. Good stuff, nonetheless !

He’s Dutch.
Yoooo why are my eyes red?!
Anyone got a YouTube channel or videos of music made with this, it’s fantastic!
This Instrument is a German synth from the 30's called the Trantoniun. I's recently been popularized by the artist know as Ludowic.

Where do I find this
If Radiohead was just one instrument.
Severance...when the numbers are sad...
Is that Moby?
If not, then it should be.
I want more of this. Intoxicating
nice setup
Nobody has mentioned Loki in this thread yet? Best score ever and it sounds just like this.
with the headphones on, I feel like I was in a Christopher Nolan film
We can thank Wendy Carlos for this. She was decades ahead of her time.
Feels like some of the sounds from Westworld
Theme music to my sad sad life.
This is pretty damn cool
It puts me in piece.
This screams Radiohead, it bleeds Radiohead, Radiohead, Radio…
