Let off the accelerator gently and either hold on for dear life or counter steer; but most people F’it’up even harder trying. So just slow the F down. And why you wouldn’t have ant-sway bars on that; jeez…
Braking when you're fishtailing with a trailer isn't the right move.
When you brake, weight shifts forward onto the tow vehicle's front axle and takes grip off the rear axle (the part that's trying to hold the trailer in line). At the same time, the trailer keeps pushing and swinging.
The end result is often the vehicle and trailer jackknifing.
At that moment he didn't really have any good options.
The best way to stop these situations is to not let it happen in the first place. Don't load up your trailer with the weight behind the rear axle. You want most of it as far forward as possible.
You should also be very cautious with your speed if you think there's any risk of fishtailing.
Actually you're supposed to speed up in this situation. I don't know the science behind it but going faster stabilizes it. Kinda like when you get a tank slapper on a motorcycle.
I wouldn’t hit the brakes, just let off of the accelerator and slow naturally. If he was gonna goose it would have to only be for a second to break speed. I live in FL and we see this a lot - tourists in rented RVs pulling boats/trailers or UHauls pulling a vehicle. They load them improperly, go too fast, then keep going when the dancing starts.
Hammer down and hit the trailer brakes if it has them in the first place. Hitting the breaks on the tow vehicle doesn’t do anything to improve this. Or bonus points if you load the trailer with some tongue weight and avoid this in the first place.
Hard breaking has a tendency to fully jack knife the trailer(s). Believe it or not the fastest way to to settle all this down is to accelerate out of it. This will pull the trailers strait. Most don't know this or feel it is too scary to do that particular maneuver when this is happening
If that's well strapped on to you, do not become a trucker!!
Those tiny ass illegal for hauling straps ( illegal for commercial vehicles) are garbage. They are fine to strap something very light in the box of your truck or something. But they are not designed to strap down 2 quads.
Everyone is saying breaking is the worst thing you can do 🤷♂️ that's what I would have done but apparently you accelerate in this scenario to stop the wobble
Why do these people keep going when this starts? Just stop. My God.
Panic in an unfamiliar unexpected situation and overconfident in their ability to safely sort it out.

Yes accelerating is the key but in this case where the tow vehicle is tons heavier than the toad, slow down and fix yer load.
Yeah it probably would have straightened him out but geez, adding more speed...
It's a crap position to find yourself in.
It's best to simply load your trailer correctly in the first place and avoid the issue.

Haha I live in Florida too.

Those quads were pretty well strapped down. I wasn't expecting them to hang on for an long as they did

He braked in fukin installments
a half ton pickup truck towing a camper trailer thats towing another trailer…what could go wrong ?
Looks like they have some room now for a boat too!
Always move the weight up forward
Pricy vacances
Panic will always do you in
Was the weight not properly over the wheels?
Don't worry, they can still sell that quad for 8k with 6800 miles on it
HOW do you not feel this happening?
Im sure they did feel it.
Ooh, I'm gonna follow this trailer for a while. We're gonna get a bunch of free shit here momentarily. Maybe even a quad.
Too little weight on the trailer tongue and vehicle hitch is what causes this.
“Hey, look over in that field, someone just flipped a quad! Wait! That’s MY quad!”
“Blue Danube Waltz”. You’re welcome.

Center of gravity.
What song was playing?
Accelerate out of it don’t brake during a death wobble lol
I've never driven with a trailer before. I'm just wondering why he didn't brake immediately to stop the trailer from swaying?
Everyone is saying breaking is the worst thing you can do 🤷♂️ that's what I would have done but apparently you accelerate in this scenario to stop the wobble
Free quad
Is this the death wobble on an rv?
I would 100% bet this is 2 trailers towed piggy back by 1 truck. Camper trailer with a hitch on the back towing the quad trailer.
4wheeler for sale - lightly used
Minor cosmetic damage
Lightly used heavily damaged
There are probably better ways to get those quads off of the trailer.
They are all a lot slower though
There should be a law that you have to watch a 5-minute film about tongue weight before you buy a trailer what the f***
Double trailer. Speed up to increase friction to dampen the oscillations.
feels like insurance fraud looking at the camper swearing for so long.
That was actually the trailer violently swinging the camper around.
