Driving a double decker bus under a low bridge
  • 68 points Sugar_Free_RedBull

    20 passengers injured.

    parent
    28 points Liber_tech

Ouch, not good. That takes a lot of the humor out of it.

    parent root
    23 points MaxUumen

I'd say it skims the top of the humor off.

    parent root
    14 points Automatic_Guest8279

Three in critical care. Hope they throw the book at the driver.

    parent root
    2 points Taylooor

Put that bridge in the clank

    parent root
    1 points BalanceEarly

Yeah, he's not playing with a full deck er!

    parent root
  • 33 points grendel303

He ignored an alarm that went off twice and didn't correct course. Stevenson, from Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, admitted dangerous driving and was banned for 28 months. He was ordered to wear an electronic tag for six months.

    parent
    21 points Boognish84

Ironic that the technology in the gps tag he was forced to wear is the same technology that could have saved the bus from hitting the bridge.

    parent root
    3 points SixShoot3r

lets see if he ignores those beeps as well when he goes somewhere he cant.

    parent root
    8 points CaregiverOriginal652

Electronic tag that shocks him... To not do idiotic things like this? /s

    parent root
    1 points wdn

So they can check if he's driving when he appears to be in a vehicle.

    parent root
    1 points Intelligent-Mud-1039

Take that /s off! It's a genius idea!

    parent root
  • 12 points Prize_Problem609

That's what they call a multi scalping

    parent
  • 7 points Liber_tech

Could be worse. Could be raining.

New fear unlocked: riding on top of a double decker.

    parent
  • 4 points 4humans

Maybe it’s time vehicles have proximity sensors adjusted for the height of the vehicle

    parent
    6 points wdn

The bus did. There were alarms going off that the driver ignored.

    parent root
    1 points 4humans

I should have clarified, sensors that apply the brakes like cars have.

    parent root
    4 points DoubleDareFan

    That automatically apply the brakes.

    parent root
    3 points Nathen_Drake_392

Current technology makes that an iffy prospect. We already have things like self-driving cars occasionally coming to a stop in the middle of a freeway due to some nonexistent obstacle. It’s not a common issue, I believe, but it’s still a dangerous one.

    parent root
    1 points JJred96

Maybe an IQ test of some kind before the engine will start.

    parent root
  • 2 points Beginning_One5454

insurance is going to love this

    parent
  • 2 points WhoCaresBoutSpellin

It happened back in July. Here’s the full story

    Thanks for the link.

    parent root
  • 2 points Ok_Caramel_6095

Even crazier, this is the second bus to do this. Another bus hit this same bridge in 2023 and also sheared it's roof off. I was especially freaked out by the two people hanging on the back of the bus.

    CLEEAAAAARED IT!

    WAHOO!!!

"Ok and now on the left you'll see the home of none other than "xxxxxxxxx" "

And coming up if you look to the right you'll see a very famous statue, anyone know who it portrays?

    parent
  • 2 points FragrantExcitement

Looks like a single decker to me

    parent
    2 points Revenga8

Nope, still double deck. The upper Deck is just unsheltered now

    parent root
    1 points Ryanirob

    It’s a convertible

Is this one of those site seeing busses now?

    parent
  • 1 points Just_Here_So_Briefly

    How many decapitated?

    parent
    2 points WhenTheDevilCome

It remained unclear, since they found 17 heads but only 12 torsos. They've been trying to pin down whether one of the passengers was simply traveling with additional heads in tow.

    parent root
    2 points Just_Here_So_Briefly

I will instruct the headless horsemen that their heads have been located.

    parent
  • 1 points Revenga8

    parent
  • 1 points rarz

That is an odd place for a Ring camera.

    parent
  • 1 points Few-Pudding-7014

I’m pretty sure one of the people on the back of the bus is missing a head

    parent
  • 1 points Bear_Tummy

Damn that was like a hot knife through butter.

    parent
  • 1 points jRitter777

    parent
  • 1 points Silent_Advice7334

    parent
  • 1 points That_Air_2716

    parent
  • 1 points confusedbystupidity

When you forget the route and take a shortcut to catch up

    parent
  • 1 points DANleDINOSAUR

Don’t these buses drive on a designated route?

    parent
  • 0 points spkoller2

Can you make this bus a convertible? Driver: sure thing boss!
