I’d only saw the dvd version of terminator 3 but I remember watching terminator salvation when it came to theaters. Heck I even enjoyed the terminator salvation arcade shooting game.
Exactly, I think it’s why some people dislike Star Wars Return of the Jedi. I’m sure there are better examples, it’s just Empire Strikes Back is another example of a sequel that’s often considered better than the original.
So it's ok to enjoy whatever you enjoy. I personally ignore any and all arguments that suggest otherwise. I enjoy a lot of movies that are objectively bad. But I can recognize the flaws of those films despite my enjoyment of them.
My problem with T3, is that it specifically, and explicitly, flies in the face of all established themes that were set by the previous movies.
T3 retroactively makes those films, the events portrayed, and the struggle of the characters, meaningless.
It's BIGGEST flaw, but by no means, it's only flaw, is that it explicitly tells us that "no fate but what we make for ourselves" is completely empty, and in fact, entirely wrong.
Among it's other more egregious takes is that Skynet is still, somehow, despite already being defeated, able to send more and more terminators back through time, each of which being, somehow, more advanced than the last. DESPITE the fact that the time machine was only utilized as a last resort. Why would Skynet even develop a Terminator killing Terminator? The internal logic of the film is BAFFLINGLY illogical.
It's tonally inconsistent, poorly paced, lacks any chemistry between the three leads, and has a painfully weak soundtrack.
I do appreciate the ATTEMPT at subversion with the ending, but consider the rest of the movie to be too poorly executed to really appreciate what it means for the overall plot.
Personally, I am in what I assume is the majority who believe if a third movie were going to be made, it should have been set in the future war, showing the events leading up to the destruction of Skynet and the time machine being used as a last ditch effort by Skynet to avert it's own destruction.
What we actually got was ... a movie which exists and can largely be ignored, and really can only be enjoyed if you pretend the first two movies don't exist.
In my eyes it is the last good terminator movie. No masterpiece like t1 or t2 but still a good terminator movie. The TX is cool killing machine . Not on pair with the t1000 though but still interesting enought to keep my enertainend.
It’s not out of character for the T-850, I’ll definitely say that. And “Talk to the hand” is something I quote in Arnold’s voice way more than I should, “You are terminated” is a great one liner too. I do enjoy certain things from this movie, mainly Arnold but I also like getting to see Judgement Day legitimately for the first time. Terminator is a really fun to watch film, I will definitely say that and can absolutely see the appeal.
Salvation become disappointment because I feel they make huge gap on time skip, T3 was set in 2004 while Salvation was in 2019. We never see how self aware process from Skynet, did Cyberdyne has secret lab or factory to build their unit to wipeout the rest of humans?
As for T3, never have problem with that, we also finally found out how John can get logistics support to fight machines and prime mission from T850 is to assure John and Kate safety because he knows no matter how hard they try, Skynet still find a way to nuke earth plus TX was sent to assure that
I loved Salvation. It didnt feel like a terminator film and was essentially just a world-building/lore-dump. We got to see extensively how human command is setup. What other humans are doing that arent in the resistance. Where they get processed. Also those bike terminator and the harvestor one.
Were people really that upset it wasn't about a machine chasing john/sarah conner around a city?
I love Salvation! But don’t really like Terminator 3, it feels like the first two but more “Arnold Ssarchzenneger action movie with bad jokes!” Which I guess so was Terminator 2, but those jokes were either extensions of John Connor’s immature sense of humor or actually funny. Glad you like it though
I liked how T3 showed us for the first time that John had good people around him. Kate Brewster and his lieutenants. We also got to see Judgement Day. It wasn't a perfect movie, but it was pretty damn good.
It was a massive deviation from the established formula.
Fans had clamored for a movie set during the Future War, and when they got it it wasn't what they'd hoped for. We didn't get much of the war, and we got the T-H for some reason.
I think it could be done well. If you went like the Band of Brothers route. A miniseries following a group of new recruits fighting Skynet, with some interpersonal drama and whatnot thrown in.
The closest we're likely gonna get is Terminator Resistance.
No that's fine, it just should have taken place at night, with blue lighting (lol) and more practical effects. Could have done without a half-human-half Terminator (and the make-up looks terrible) as well. While Bale is great, it would have given the four movies better continuity if they would have cast Nick S. and made him look a bit older. The CGI Arnold was so cheesy it took me out of it in the theater. The movie feels unrelated to T2 or T3 and just feels like an expensive fan film.
It was ok, but the chase scene with the crane was great!
Agreed, but it lacked music!!!
Yes we can totally enjoy it if we stop comparing it to the masterpieces T1 and T2
💯💯💯! It will NEVER BE a T1/T2.... NOTHING ever will...
It is It's OWN thing! And straight the fuck up, BAD ASS!
Yeah, but that’s for most any sequel
Yeah but T2 was a sequel that even surpassed the original so people's expectations were very high when T3 was released.

At least Terminator 3 FEELS kind of like a Terminator movie. No other sequel, including G, actually feels like a Terminator movie.
In my eyes it is the last good terminator movie. No masterpiece like t1 or t2 but still a good terminator movie. The TX is cool killing machine . Not on pair with the t1000 though but still interesting enought to keep my enertainend.
I FUXKIN LOVE this movie! Hardcore, BAD ASS, GANGSTER SHIT BRO!!!!
Even the comedy fit nicely!
My opinion...
I DON'T care who disagrees
“Talk to the hand!”
I don’t like this movie, I just wanted to quote it, by Arnold standards, it’s fucking great. Glad you enjoy Terminator 3.
It's a learning computer... he just followed suit with what the GAY stripper did... come on man... you don't know this yet?

God bless you sir
Instant breast augmentation was pretty neat
Salvation was great I loved how the sets they used for the future wars and showed how rogue survivors survived but struggled
Terminator 3 is fine, salvation was just fun, enjoyable experiences when you aren't comparing them to the predecessors
It’s like they took T2’s soul, ran it through a focus group, and came out with a Mountain Dew commercial. Do you by any chance like Mountain Dew?
It was great.
❤️

T3 was good, just John Connor actor was horribly miscast
I loved Salvation. It didnt feel like a terminator film and was essentially just a world-building/lore-dump. We got to see extensively how human command is setup. What other humans are doing that arent in the resistance. Where they get processed. Also those bike terminator and the harvestor one.

I like a lot of the set pieces in it, but I think the cinematography is too bright, and unnatural in most of the movie, hard to explain.
i never understood the hate for salvation, i’ve always wanted a movie that took place during the future war
It was a massive deviation from the established formula.

Great idea, kinda screwed it up though.
Who gives a frick about Reviews.
Especially Salvation is very good. T3 isnt bad either
I saw T3 in the theater and it felt like a gut punch. If only I knew what was to come.
For me Kristianna Loken had me TRANSFIXED when watching T3.
T3 and Salvation are fun films. I don't get the hate.
“Talk to the hand”… and we’re done.
I very much enjoyed salvation.
Mixed reviews? Dear me.
I really like Salvation
Agreed. I stop at 3.
Salvation is amazing
I always liked it
T3 or Salvation?
