I’ve watched some stuff about them and basically some corporation controls them and has them build very plain boxy structures to “worship in” and then sells them after a bit to get rich. Also they believe in having very bland lives and just spreading Jehovahs word because all the good stuff comes after you die and you get to hang out with animals and meet dead people(yes seriously that’s the afterlife, meeting people from the Bible and animals being totally chill. I don’t even think they have computers or even like board games or anything. Like it sounds cool until you realize it’s all eternity and you have literally nothing to do but talk with people about the past and that’s it). I recommend Ex-JW panda on YouTube to learn about them, it’s how I did. I will say it’s been a bit tho so I may have misremembered something

Their afterlife doesn’t have computers. Not them currently. So far as I can tell world ain’t ended yet. And yeah I went off what they actually believe, as stated by someone who was literally a part of them. He also showed their propaganda, like the buts for kids and the broadcasts and stuff. And explained what it meant to someone within the cult.
I don’t disagree. And what do you mean up to date exactly? He went over the propaganda they use. He was a member of them. He showed their propaganda new broadcasts and discussed major changes. Like what do you want exactly here they are a cult in the truest way possible. They shun you if you leave and make extensive propaganda. They are owned by a corporation that uses them for free labor and profits off of it(the corp is the one making the propaganda also). Do you want me to link him or something? I trust what people who have been part of them say over what they say about themselves. North Korea can call itself the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea but that doesn’t suddenly make Kim not a dictator.
I mean his view on the religion may not be totally accurate. They don't shun you if you leave, it's just that if you commit a serious sin (sexual immorality, violence (unprovoked), murder, participate in drugs) or start preaching against they won't talk to you bc you're a bad influence, you can leave whenever you want and still be friends with them but if you commit a sin they try to limit association. There is no corporation btw, if you search "governing body" on the website and scroll down a bit you can find exactly what they do, you can find the history of each member as well as their faces and partners.
I would believe that but if you look at the movies they made it shows different. Also the, ya know, literal people who left and were shunned and whose families had to avoid them. They consider anyone outside the religion a bad influence. And the governing body is the corporation. If you notice they are rich. They get that way from the aforementioned free labor and selling of property.
nope! we are told to love our neighbor as ourself. my mother’s entire family doesn’t support our religion, yet we moved to the town we’re in just to be close to them, and we still talk to them all the time, visit them, care for them and help them out when they need help, we don’t treat them any different than if they were Jehovah’s Witnesses.
yeah my whole congregation is chill, and every Jehovah’s Witness ive met. in the end i don’t think it’s really the religion, we just dont have nearly as many members as the big religions so not much gets heard about us other than stories of bad family situations or stories about rude people but they were jehovah’s witnesses, and when thats all you hear it can change your opinion on an entire group. if you want another example of that, just look at the furry community. most are really chill, kind people, but if a few are bad and that gets around, people think negative.
Everything is a cult if you think it is, but they're just a branch of Christianity, you can leave if you want, you can come back if you want, you can go to their meeting and just sit in and never come back if you want.
One of my favorite US presidents mother became a Jehovahs Witness and it’s ironic because they didn’t like joining the military and not only did he do that,he became a general :)
