I had Component Buffet and thought that Min-Max would have gave me 4 anvils, but I got 4 random components instead. Isn’t this counterintuitive? Or at least Component’s Buffet description should specify that only works on PVE rounds
Yeah, it has to be a bug. I played a game yesterday and took component anvil. Took the giants belt prismatic later and got 4 anvils. Not sure why it didnt work for min-max
My personal theory/guess is that it has to do with Ryze encounter somehow, because in PBE you were able to get Pandora's Items with the Ryze encounter (which was insanely broken as you could guarantee any Prismatic trait you desire), but they changed it for live. Min-Max is also removed from the pool when there's a Ryze encounter
They likely messed something up in the code. It's similar to the augment "your 5-costs gain 12% HP/AS, gain 2 exp per round". They changed that to player combats only, despite it not showing on the tooltip, yet it's the only augment where you get the +2 EXP after a loot round, i.e. you normally get it on 2-6, but on 2-6 you get 2, then you get 4 on 3-1/4-1 etc.
I would guess because you are intended to get random components with no control, but i'd rather it work if you've gone through the effort to grab the other.
Component Buffet states that you get a random component, but you get an anvil instead. So why you get an anvil from that but 4 random components from an augment with exactly the same description?
Its a wording issue components usually are never truly random just like units they come from a pool of components to minimize the chance of getting 9 Armor and nothing else so if an augment states you get 4 components it will be always out of that pool but if it says random it wont. Component buffet gives you a choice of 4 items out of the pool, components you get that are NOT from the pool will still be random its the same with caroussel items csuse you would theorhetically get a component thus you should be given an anvil
This is just bullshit. Augments that give any kind of item are not taking those items from your item pool (just like the items you take from carousel). Your item pool is only for PvE drops. Component Buffet makes every augment component, and pve component drop a component anvil. Also when you open a component anvil you can choose from 4 random component, and it ignores your component pool.
Your comment is not really clear, so sorry if I misunderstand you.
The first anvil you get from the augment is not from the pool, because I took a bow from it and I had already a bow and got another bow on 2-7, which is impossible if they all came from the same pool ( I had 3 bows, the pool only can have 2 by 2-7)
Anything and everything states that you get a random component. I've had eye for an eye, big grab bag, and buried treasures myself with buffet and they ALL give anvils. It is just an inconsistency.
For PvE drops you have a pool. You start with 1 of each component, and after every carousel round you get +1 to every component. This is why you can't get 2 of the same components at stage 1, and you are less likely to get components you already got from PvE rounds.
Why would u ever take this Prisma augment? It's obviously shit and prolly like 5.5 avg (sadly augment stats banned cuz they don't want to balance the game)
Compnent Buffed is only for PVE Rounds. It should not work for Item Augments. If you think that could be a bug, then you can make a bug report on the Bug Mega Thread. But i dont think its a bug,
This is just incorrect. Last set if you had the encounter that gave earlier augments it was actually a pretty good strategy to take component buffet + the augment that would give you random components in exchange for limiting your board space. You would end stage 2 with several component anvils that way.
Another strategy is to always take magical roll on 3-2 when you have component buffet because whats normally the worst option (4 of the same component) becomes super high roll when it gives you 4 component anvils instead
It’s surely a bug, every Augment that grants random components should give you a component anvil if you have Component Buffet.
Presuming that Min-Max makes the exception doesn’t make sense at all.
This sub is so full of misinformation, people just making wrong assumptions.
Yeah, it has to be a bug. I played a game yesterday and took component anvil. Took the giants belt prismatic later and got 4 anvils. Not sure why it didnt work for min-max
I would definitely send in a bug report.
I took chaos and got components cashout while having componebt anvil. I didn't get anvils there too

i’m almost positive i just saw min-max on a ryze encounter. any source for that?
It is probably a bug, every item augment gives anvils with this, for example belt overflow, big grab bag, eye for an eye.
Maybe create a bug ticket for this
Seems like a bug.
Probably a bug? Any other “random component” augment I’ve taken after component buffet has given me the anvils
Odd cause I actually did that combo, just not with min-max. RIOT must have fumbled how that one works
even if it worked, minmax feels so suboptimal its crazy.
i get its uses with thief glowes and all that but really it needs a buff imo
Happened to me too. Too lazy to create a ticket about it, but willing to reply on reddit. #metoo
I would guess because you are intended to get random components with no control, but i'd rather it work if you've gone through the effort to grab the other.
The augment states tha you will get 4 random components, not 4 components wich i think its pretty self explanatory

So confidently incorrect
Drops from PvE are random no?

Because it was a low item lobby, I was playing Trynda reroll so items were needed and with component buffet was garanteed instant bis.
They did not want the stats because of a bias that would exist that had nothing to do with "real" stats of it being balanced or not

It works on every item augment I’ve ever tried, including things like the one that gives a bunch of giants belts
This is just incorrect. it works on the one augment that gives you four swords or four belts or four rods. I get anvils then.
It works with ixtal cashout, spoils of war and many more non PvE round random items.
