From the chibis, the artworks and stuffs and the actual game.

In summoner's rift she's like Satan.

  • Gwen chibi cute

    The most correct answer.

  • I think at some point, riot said that women mostly play female champions while men will play 50/50 male/female champs. So the most economically-sensible skins to make are for female champs.

Then you have TFT, where the two types of skins are fierce or cute. I imagine that cute sells better than fierce.

Given all that, Gwen is both a bit fierce and cute at the same time (I blame the scissors). Other female champs haven’t hit both, but Gwen has.

Maybe Tristana or lulu could pull off cute, but which of them could also pull off fierce?

I think Rek'sai pulls off both.

Shyvana too! So many cutesy wyvern looks you can do for her

Chinas player base prefers human like champions

    Reported for kink shaming.

    Username checks out.

Isn't that what golden spat is for.

I just want my muscle mommy illaoi finish my enemies with hentai tentacle slam

Women like to scissor, men like women who scissor. Riot: Profit!

All of this plus she is cute while also not being basic generic girly girl human character rather than a Lux or an Enchanter.

Kaisa does a pretty good job of both. I think ahri does too

female league champs broadly fall into one of two categories, for the gooners or for the ekittens dating them

Not sure about TFT, but in league the playerbase is like 90%+ men. They urens to just make most skins for the most popular champs factoring in how difficult it is to make one for that specific champ.

Which is why Ezreal has 5 million skins while Yorick barely have any.

Not quite sure what metrics they use for TFT, but humans/humanoids have always been more popular in league than monster champs

Ezreal is a far more popular character and especially has many female fans, as a pretty boy character usually would. Even if league players are 90% men, it doesn't necessarily mean the ones that spend are. These games exist outside of the competitive bubble too.

As a woman, the cool skins don't really do it for me, but I do like Gwen and the star guardians. Wish they did more male star guardians though, but I mainly play enchanters so there's not many guys in that role ig...

I mainly play enchanters so there's not many guys in that role ig

Milio and Taric are the only male enchanters, but Milio is too young imo. I could see Braum, Taric and Pantheon getting SG skins ngl. (if they do them alongside an SG Gwen port, plus Kayle as a retired SG, Star Nemesis Chogath, and SG Yunara, that could be cool)

Even if league players are 90% men, it doesn't necessarily mean the ones that spend are

Quite unlikely that the ~10% women who play outspend the 90% men.

But regardless of that, they don't just go "oh, this champ might be played by both men and women, let's make a skin". They have metrics on how popular champs are, and use that as a weight as well as how long it is since that champ got a skin, combined with how difficult it is to make the skin (counterweight).

So champs like Ezreal and Lux, which are very popular as well as being extremely easy to make skins for will have skins coming all the time, while champs like Elise and Yorick who are way harder to make skins for and not nearly as popular will get way fewer skins.

Riot August have talked about this on his stream a few times

You’ve clearly never been part of any fandom a lot of spaces are held up but the 10% of women willing to buy everything related to a specific character.

I am not saying no women are spending money on the game or that no women are whales, and I'm not sure why you are reading it as such.

I am saying it's statistically unlikely that the 10% of women outspends the 90% of men, but I'm not sure if TFT has the same sort of split.

I've played League since s1, not sure why you have to be so aggressive when I say something that is purely based on very neutral statement on probability

I’m not being aggressive it’s legitimately a funny thing how easily overlooked those women are, like the entire sports anime genre marketed towards boy/men entirely held up buy girls/women Young Justice is another example.

Is it statistically unlikely sure but it’s waaaaay more likely especially in the case of a specific champion constantly getting skin than you are giving it credit for.

Why are gay men left out the equation. We like cute little legends and cute skins as well

I didn't mean outspend necessarily, but spend enough to be considered

  • Chibi Gwen is sooooo cute!

  • Probably cuz she have doll/chibi animation in league

  • Someone clearly simps for Gwen in the Dev team. No other champion got so much attention as her

Popularity is a thing. Malphite chibi is the only real evidence that someone is clearly Malphite main.

I know Golden Spautla is a diff game, but it probably helps that Malphite is popular in China.

But cosmetic is exclusive, right? That Mecha Malphite chibi we have, Golden Spatula doesn't. They have Tahm Chibi though.

People love her. And honestly, real, I love her too, she’s great.

Used to be Lux in League of Legends lmfao. That mf'er was ON it. Had all the skins, ALL the love.. Guess they just like younger.

As much as everyone jokes about lux/ahri skins, miss fortune had the most for a long time. Lux has tied her now though.

Who let DiCpario into the dev team?

  • Gweb our beloved

  • she is very cute. she’d be much more popular in regular league if she wasn’t a relatively hard top laner. in tft it doesn’t matter

  • Anecdotal, but Gwen effectively became the mascot of Riot's mobile games. Wild Rift introduced her to mobile gamers and just comparing her skin catalog there to PC LoL it's clear where she's favored. She's the closest the game has to an anime aesthetic character, she corners the Lolita market, and her design is instantly recognized because of her weapon and hair. She's marketing genius.

  • Yeah...we need more Jinx!

  • IDK but the moment they make Chibi Mordekaiser, he is baby girl alongside Gwen. So I am READY

  • Don't worry, she's getting permamently dethroned once Chibi Ornn releases in 2030 (no skin) alongside Prestige Exalted Unbound Upgradeable(1-3* just like normal tacticians but 10x the shard cost) Chroma Chibi Miss Fortune/Lux

  • gwen is baby

  • Gwen is mobile league thanos in terms of popularity

  • I wish we could get some void champs (not bloody kai saa, she doesnt count) as chibis

    Why doesn't Kai'Sa count?

Because she is just a woman with a suit. The void should be alien and interesting not the same female charachter as every other area but purple

Kai'Sa has a Void symbiote grafted onto her flesh.

  • average redditor discovers that not only do women play games, but some men like cute things too

  • i think it’s for the women and femboys. i’m to broke to afford darius unbound

  • She should be loved in League too. Unfortunately, she's a high skill cap, hypercarry top laner so her potential playerbase is lower than what it normally would be.

None of those problems are in Wild Rift or TFT, so she's free to roam as the cute and marketable champion she was aesthetically designed to be.

It's also not as if she gets no attention in League. She has a decent amount of skins, despite how hard she is to make a skin for.

  • She’s an emo , pretty girl with blue hair and no emotions.

She was always meant to be popular, she’s basically emo seraphine

Emo? Are we tallking about the same highly optimistic, naive, curious, friendly and joyfull woman wearing only bright colours?

She is far from being an emo and what makes you think she has no emotions? In her voice lines she can clearly be heard acting happy, angry, sad and so on.

I meant more so as an aesthetic, she’s a living doll she has no real emotions

Her being a living doll does not stop her from having emotions if that is what the writer wants. Which seems to be the case since she apears as very emotional character.

Aesthetic wise i personally would have said she fits more the gothic lolitta style but no point in arguing about it since its more subjective.

I agree, it is more of a gothic lolita style hands down.

Only like 2 of these things are true.
