It looks like this is a garage and it looks like he may do some work in it. I can understand in a working garage tools and equipment has to be prioritized and a TV is usually there for background noise or to glance up at while working. The fact he's just chilling out there makes me ask, "does he not have a TV inside?"
Tell him to get two boards. Attach then together with a heavy sliding track, so it can slide down. Then mount it where he had it now but so that it can be released and slide down in front of the cabinet. Couple gate claps on the sides to keep it in the up position. And a second send to hold in the down position so all the weights not on the track.
My friend sold his furniture in his living room and has lawn chairs and lounge chairs to sit and watch tv. Everything else is normal. So un comfortable
As he should. People put TV's this high for a reason.
Its so that your show won't get interrupted by people walking in front of it.
I used to get infuriated when I was little by my parents magnavox Tv we had. Every single time my aunt's, grandmas, aunts or mom would walk through the living room. They'd walk passed it slowly thus us having to pause whatever we was doing.
When we got our 1st flat screen - we insisted on hanging it up high because of all of the fucking foot traffic that was constant in front of the TV. Oh my God was we in HEAVEN when we was watching Titan A.E & here comes the old lady's cutting through the living room dragging their feet slowly in slippers. All you see was the very tip's of their hair on the very bottom of the screen.

The inside tv is his wife's
Man cave type shit. A space to watch tv/hang out with friends that isn't in the house, usually to get away from "the ol' ball and chain"
‘Happy wife happy life’ ahh dude
I can smell the oil and gasoline
i've never seen a tv that wide and that short.
It’s distortion from the phone’s wide angle lens. Same reason the bucket/footrest looks like a cone.
Is he not allowed in the house?
He’s allowed in he just prefers not to go in.
Your friend might be one of those long necked lizard people...careful.
Living in a garage?
Have to see the fridge to pass judgement.
Garages get a pass in my book. Now, if that’s his living room …
Your friend enjoys being wrong then

It would still be high but not as painfully high.
Or tell him to go the projector route
Garage tvs don’t count we al know this…
Garage/shop TVs are not subject to the TVtoohigh bullies.
