If you judge it by the height difference between the TV and the ceiling it can be. I generally look at the light switches to estimate what eye level is
Absolutely. Doesn't get much better than that. My only suggestion would be moved that light somewhere else where you wouldn't see it's reflection in the screen.
Mines the Bravia 9 85”. The bench consists of 3 ikea besta benches. 2x 1.2m + 1x 0.6m. The 0.6m one is sandwiched in between. There is a thicker middle block in the middle of the 1.2m and the feet sit right above it (just 2/3cm from it), since each bench is only support half of the weight of the TV, it’s absolutely doable. Ikea benches always underquote their bearing limits.
Kinda how I’m feeling. It felt perfect with the small TV but seems a tad high now. I could get short legs and put it on the floor if I really need to but would be a hassle for sure
Looks solid, I’m also receiving my 77” C5 tomorrow, after using a passed down 2011 55” for years now. I’m so excited. Its certain that the middle of the tv (which should be eyeheight) will go up a bit
This setup is great!
The floating stand is visually pleasing but too much in comparison to the width of the tv.
Definitely feel you need to be sitting closer.
I commend you for this huge improvement!
I'm good with it. I can't picture that credenza being any lower without looking odd, and the TV is sitting comfortably on it. It may be technically a little too high by measurements, but it looks balanced and natural, which is important. I like it.
If renting understandable… but if you own you coulda taken baseboard out to fit console drop. I feel like you think it’s too high, coincidentallyby by the same value as baseboard height.
That doesn't explain a thing. What is it's load bearing? What if you added a thirty pound center, a forty pound avr? I've just never have seen people put a TV on a floating console, it's always is wall mounted.
Sure it does it explains it’s made for holding the weight of a TV. They are rated for a range of 60-100lbs each and this is two units sharing the weight of a 55lb TV.
Thank you! I really am and with every new movie or show I watch, especially on Apple TV, I’m blown away! PS5 games also look so damn good. Well worth almost $1,100!
It’s awesome. I hate the legs, I haven’t seen em for so long. My LG is atrociously high mounted in my bedroom so the legs I saw for about 3 hours a couple years ago.
Mounting it would make it look so clean, mostly cause the legs. :)
I think you don’t like em either for the comments i read.
If he mounts the TV, it needs to go higher than it currently is (to leave room for audio and more negative space), but then it would be too high and too close to ceiling.
Floating TV stand was a nice idea but doesn’t quite work in this space. Just need to replace it with something smaller and not floating and yeah the space looks good for an 83”
the stand is very nice. however, I would drop it down to right above the base board, allowing the tv to be mounted 4” above that leaving just enough room for a Sonos arc ultra sound bar.
Update: a lot of people saying it’s too far/small. I just measured the viewing distance and it’s right at 10’ which seems pretty solid based on charts I found. Also does not feel too small in person. And for those who were curious my ceiling is 6’9” down here. Here’s a photo in portrait which adds a different perspective.
it's fine. that's a low ceiling room.

Ceiling height has nothing to do with eye level.
If you judge it by the height difference between the TV and the ceiling it can be. I generally look at the light switches to estimate what eye level is
It's honestly not bad! Great size and placement
Appreciate the feedback!

Ah ha! We have the same ikea tv bench! But mines the 85”
But the difference is that yours is on the floor. Those few inches make a big difference.
That’s what she said
I’d say mine is the perfect height. When lean back on my couch, it’s perfectly eye level or ever so slightly upward
Absolutely. Doesn't get much better than that. My only suggestion would be moved that light somewhere else where you wouldn't see it's reflection in the screen.
I turn it off during movie nights
Nice looks great! Would love an 85
Oh then put it on the ground like this guy did, that solves your slightly-too-high problem instantly.
Whats the tv distance here?
About 2.8-3m depends on how I sit. If I feel like it, I could bring the couch forward and it’s around 2.5m
Okay. I thought its closer.
Is the bench mounted or just on the floor?
Just on the floor
Good to know it supports the weight, was looking at this one

It’s a little high but fine. You can’t do much anyway with your current floating console setup
Kinda how I’m feeling. It felt perfect with the small TV but seems a tad high now. I could get short legs and put it on the floor if I really need to but would be a hassle for sure
Right it's barely passing but I do like the stand and its probably not worth it wo unmount it from the wall.
I think it's fine, we had another post recently with the same tall baseboards & floating cabinet issue
[Edit] if it really bothers you, you can wall mount it so it's barely above the countertop, I did this at my desk when I got a 32" computer monitor
You could scooch the setup like 6 inches closer doing all that, and it does feel a smidge far to me.

There is no such thing. Quickly fills up with speakers, gaming console, decorations, room fragrance dispenser, etc.
This was my thoughts too. It’s just empty so I can get the tv set up
I mean there literally is no such thing! Click on that link. No such sub. You must be right!

Cannot win with some people eh?
I love this floating setup. Plenty of room to upgrade the size of the tv or use it for things like consoles etc.
Thanks that’s what I was going for!
What’s the distance floor to center?
2 miles
Not bad but the TV stand is too big
It’s perf…
Looks solid, I’m also receiving my 77” C5 tomorrow, after using a passed down 2011 55” for years now. I’m so excited. Its certain that the middle of the tv (which should be eyeheight) will go up a bit
That’s super exciting hope you enjoy it!
This is very aestheticly pleasing and practical. Easy to clean under and around. 10/10
height is fine. should have gone for 100" lol
This was the largest I could budget for an oled, and it does feel larger than the photo makes it seem
Just build a one foot a deck for your coach and youll be fine
If I had that space, I'd get an ultra short throw project and fill up that entire wall, especially in a basement without much sunlight
save up your lunch money kid.
All good considering the floating console.
This setup is great! The floating stand is visually pleasing but too much in comparison to the width of the tv. Definitely feel you need to be sitting closer. I commend you for this huge improvement!

It's a beautiful tv stand but I'd say like 6" too high.
That's being extremely critical and lame lol.
Otherwise it's a badass upgrade to go to 77" and I am psyched for you.
Console height was mostly determined by the baseboard. But hey I appreciate that thanks!
If renting understandable… but if you own you coulda taken baseboard out to fit console drop. I feel like you think it’s too high, coincidentallyby by the same value as baseboard height.
mount it. those tv legs make the whole thing look cheap.
Absolutely mount it. Those legs ruin the entire look - not to mention 77" is a lot of TV to potentially fall from a wobble.
yes, i dont give bad reccos.
Yea kinda bummed LG used these legs for the B5, not a fan
well mount it then. hide all the cables in wall, with a new power outlet.
prob solved.
What’s the ceiling height?
It’s my basement if you couldn’t already tell, so it’s pretty short. Under 8’ I believe
Yeah the abnormally high lightswitch caught my eye.
Wait... Are you supposed to put your tv on floating shelves? That seems awfully dangerous.
It’s a floating console made for TVs
That doesn't explain a thing. What is it's load bearing? What if you added a thirty pound center, a forty pound avr? I've just never have seen people put a TV on a floating console, it's always is wall mounted.

Floating shelf sitting TV. Mount it, could save 1-2 inches and look clean vs the legs
Ayeee is that the LG B5? I just bought one too in a 65” size!!!
Yep good catch! That’s awesome hope you enjoy it!
Thank you! I really am and with every new movie or show I watch, especially on Apple TV, I’m blown away! PS5 games also look so damn good. Well worth almost $1,100!

😃
Looks like you’re watching hallmark movies, doesn’t really matter.
lol this is just the LG channels, literally just turned the tv on
Go 83
Would love to this is the biggest I could budget for an oled
Seems really far away
It does seem that way but in person it’s pretty solid imo
I like it
Thank you!
That wall mounted cabinet unit was sized for the future!
For sure 😎
Looks too big for the wall, Not enough negative space
Height is fine, but way to small for the distance. You should move your sofa closer.
It looks that way in the photo but the viewing experience is good in person
sofatoofar
r/RoomTooConsole
Good to see a stand being used
A lot better than the 55”s at n the ceiling
If only the cabinet wasn’t floating.
Do you need binoculars to watch a movie?
Telescope actually
I almost went with telescope but settled on binoculars. Get out of my head.
TV stand is too big. It’s trying to be the main character of the room, which is a double no cause it’s an IKEA stand
You got a really good room to work with, would get rid of the tv stand in the future with something nicer and smaller
Or....a bigger tv.
The TV stand is kind of messing everything up.
If he mounts the TV, it needs to go higher than it currently is (to leave room for audio and more negative space), but then it would be too high and too close to ceiling.

I'm disturbed by the no feet on the tv stand
How well bolted is that furniture? That looks like an accident waiting to happen! 🤔
It’s anchored into cinderblock
Hopefully you are planning on pairing it with a soundbar or some speakers?
I think it's too far
Go 100.

Paint or pattern the wall a darker color. Create an accent wall.
Definitely want to paint the room
Is that Besta from IKEA 👀👀
Interesting that your floating bench can support the height of your TV, well installed.
I think you have a lot more real estate to use on that media centre. Why not go bigger
Need some Phillips Hue lights.
Perfect! Love that the console is nice and wide, so the tv doesn’t look top heavy.
Where's the console from? I'm looking to get something similar.
It looks like the IKEA Bestå, with the björköviken doors
This guy IKEAs
Thanks! That’s what I was going for. And bonus for extra storage.
Looks fantastic. Well done OP!
Thank you!
For that wall you should of went 100”

Thanks!
You're welcome!
Ntp kinda feel like height is everything for the vibes bro, gotta get it right
