This post is about 2 theories I have about our new wonderful series, Mythological Tourism

  1. "Historical" Entities

In this series, there seems to be 2 distinct types of creatures, which i will call "Entities" (relatively ordinary creatures) and "Historical entities" (creatures specifically titled as historical).

My main idea for the world of MT is that it is based on (and possibly originate from) beliefs, and how these beliefs warp and change overtime. There could be 2 different types of beliefs at play here, which are historically accurate mythologies and relatively modern folklore.

Historically accurate mythology and the belief in it could facilitate the existence of these Historical Entities, following the characteristics, logic and personality of their idea counterparts (with possibly the most popular belief dominating the logic over others). Thus, these creatures are "historically accurate".

Then what about the others, which aren't deemed "Historical"?

I believe that these creatures represent (if not originate from) the misinterpretation and transformation of folklore and mythology, like conspiracy theories. All of the creatures that you have seen were simply warped versions of the ordinary things they were based off of, like buffalos, giant sharks and the statue of David.

This makes me think. If there exists a "Historical" Prometheus, is there also a modern one? If the Buffalo Roach is the warped version of its original creature, then is the Buffalo considered "Historical"? Much to think about.

  1. T. Mackison

In the classic Buffalo Roach film, 2 characters were featured: Richard Mackison and Tim Mackison. In the vocalizations film, we only got a character named R.M., however we can deduce that this was M.T.'s version of Richard Mackison, with the same initials.

In the Shell of David film, we then get a character named T.M. We can deduce that T.M. is at least the M.T. equivalent of Tim Mackison, the son of Richard Mackison. This theory isn't as solid since we never got real exposition about R.M. and T.M.'s relationship nor T.M.'s real name, however the fact that R.M. and the Buffalo Roach exists within M.T., it's possible that this is M.T.'s version of Tim Mackison, possibly genderbent like R.M. This might also give credence to T.M.'s character displayed by their eyewitness testimony in The Shell of David.

  • I’m pretty sure R.M. is meant to be T.M.’s mom since they’re clearly much more of a woman then T.M. is but the rest of it checks out

also something worth noting is that all the “Historical” entities in the seires are all notable beings from Greek Mythology, and in particular, were fucked over for no reason in the classic Greek lore (Prometheus became bound to a rock, Medusa got beheaded and Polyphemus had something happen to him idk im not that familiar with him in particular)

I never considered r.m. being richard's wife lol that makes things interesting

  • Nice noticing!

It should also be noted that in the original sequel to "Buffalo Roach", "I Peak, I Seek!", Tim becomes a Roach-like creature himself. Maybe this is connected?

he doesn’t exactly become a Roach-like creature himself but he does develop a condition called Polymelia, which is a condition resulting in the addition of additional limbs to someone, and it’s implied in the video that he got this condition from his encounter with the Buffalo Roach
