Hammerfell + A larger map than Skyrim. Remember that Skyrim was a game created for the PS3 and Xbox360 consoles, they couldn't fit a massive map in it. Now, they'll be making it for the PS5/Whatever modern Xbox console, and alongside having a bigger team and more resources, saying that it'll have more trees regardless of it's region is a bit of a no-brainer.
Todd's anwer of 111,111 was clearly a joke answer and I don't even know nor think he knows how many trees there are in TESVI and if there are more than the number he listed. Seems like he was there to have a good time.
Now, if he said that there aren't more trees in TESVI than Skyrim, THAT would be fucking insane.
I am so tired of people thinking Hammerfell is just pure desert. Like everyone thought Skyrim might just be pure tundra and ice. They're not going to release a 1 biome game guys. There will probabl be Reach style mountains, jungle, desert, coastline at a minimum.
I still think it just means the map will be bigger. Plus, people need to consider all the kinds of trees that can grow in tropical and arid regions and all the more temperate regions in Hammerfell.
Still just Hammerfell. The whole region isn't straight Sahara sand dunes. You'll have palm trees on the beeches, and rivers near Taneth and the Cyrodiil border, the Banthan jungle on the northern coast, and plenty of Skyrim-esque trees in the highlands or mountains on the Skyrim border too.
Cape Shira (Hegathe) is described as "lush and tropical" as well, plus the border regions of Craglorn around Skyrim should have pine forests and juniper groves, being basically essentially the same biome as the Reach and Eastern Falkreath.
You're right, its overrun with people who think the games gonna be in development for 10+ years. Thinks that project greenheart was real even now. And occasionally thinks 6 is gonna be all of tamriel for reasons.
I'm gonna be blunt with you. That is massive cope, and relies on 'but anything could be possible!' tier reasoning. That trailer was stated by todd to have hints. Anyone actujally dissecting it found those hints. Even outside of that trailer, we've had many more substantial hints toward hammerfell.
Without getting into how skyrim had a very lopsided amount of lore and quest connections to hammerfell and the second great war brewing.
Its not valenwood, and its not elsweyr either. Trying to erase the evidence opposing it is just... setting yourself up for a ton of disappointment. It also *was* technically speaking. Its just that it was in relation to the tech being built for *both* Starfield and TES6, which we saw in their elder scrolls anniversary video.
(based off when they officially start pre production according to todd. Active work on the game itself, rather than just the engine and assets, was more likely mid 2020 to late 2020 going by it being confirmed to *already* be in by new years 21)
Anyways tldr: no offense to you man, but no. Trying to claim the teaser was a 'red herring' is just trying to invent ambiguity to justify believing it could be 'anywhere'.
Honestly, the trailer showed coastal drylands and Hammerfell is the only part of Tamriel that has those as far as I am aware, so I'd be incredibly surprised if Hammerfell is not included in some capacity.
people forget hammerfell borders skyrim and cyrodill and all its border regions are mountainous and temperate climate, its just the center of hammerfell that is a big desert
I doubt they'll do a scaled-up map. It'll be to-scale with Skyrim which would make it slightly larger. All TES games since Morrowind have been in scale with each other and there's no reason to think that this one is going to be bigger. Heck, Skyrim was smaller than Oblivion.
They could just have greater forest density. AnyAustin's video made it a point that Skyrim's forests were actually very sparse and not as dense as real forests. They could easily achieve over 111,111 trees even in Hammerfell with just higher density.
Earlier today, I was saying that it would still be Hammerfell, since Skyrim's forests aren't very dense and the map is a lot smaller than a lot of similar modern games, but I'm starting to waver.
I think TESVI would have more trees even if it was just Hammerfell, since modern computers can handle that, but I'm not sure he'd choose to say that there are more trees if it's just Hammerfell, since the main association in people's minds is the deserts.
people still perpetuate the belief tes6 has to be the same size/scale as skyrim. Despite that only being said scale due to the engine and consoles of the time. Its rather weird to me.
Though Hammerfell does possess oases and tropical regions, such as the Banthan Jungle, it largely consists of desererts, badlands, mountains and scrublands, with environments reminiscent of the Gold Coast and the Reach along the borders.
Now, it's entirely possible that with a larger map, these fairly sparse forested regions could have more trees than the whole of Skyrim. But if they've kept the scale of the regions more or less consistant, then High Rock + Hammerfell is more likely.
I do have high hopes for this next thrilling installment. Not exactly wanting to go to my prior comments/posts and copy-paste what I've written about what I think will happen, where it'll be, what we'll do, what we can expect, etcetera, but if any of you are wanting my thoughts on it by all means check my profile! I would copy-paste, but I've a horrendous migraine that just won't go the hell away, and I've barely been able to type this. Cheerio!
Hey all, I'm still getting used to Reddit, the does and don'ts, etcetera. I've made this comment in another Subreddit, also relating to The Elder Scrolls, but wanted to post it here as well. I'm hoping it sparks some genuine civil discussions, as I'd love to know your personal, genuine theories about what all we can expect to see and be able to do in the next chapter of this wonderful franchise and story! So, that said, without further ado:
Personally, the setting for TES VI being in both Hammerfell and High Rock would be amazing. It'd be the first time since Arena and Daggerfall that we'd have more than one, proper sized province (bittersweetly excluding any Daedric Realms/Planes of Oblivion). Think about it: The ship-building mechanic they're purportedly implementing will be best utilized by allowing us to travel along the Iliac Bay, from Hammerfell and High Rock, and to all of the islands around and along the coast. Plus, they'd also not be looking at reference pictures of underwater temples, schools of fish, and other marine things in general if we'd also not have tons of aquatic things to explore- with that, I believe that, if your ship gets too badly damaged, you'll wreck/sink and be left at the mercy of the Iliac Bay and all that dwells within it. Perhaps now, just maybe with all this taken into account, we'll also have big marine life- natural and otherwise- like sharks and Weresharks.
Bethesda is genuinely doing their best to upgrade the Creation Engine II from Starfield, and with that comes many a great propensity for several flushed-out mechanics and factors of immersion, including lore-accuracy. That said, in addition to the aforementioned possibility of Weresharks, we could also see Werelions, and a return of the Wereboars and Werewolves of High Rock. Physical and spell fighting mechanics are, without a doubt, going to be heavily improved- a decent possibility is that it'll be a more advanced form of Oblivion's synchronicity system that allows us to cast spells whilst wielding a shield and/or weapon. It's likely we'll be able to only cast weaker spells with both of our hands, or one of them, already wielding something, and the more powerful spells will require both hands free.
Returning back to lore-accuracy, it's not entirely out of the question either to see true Tamrielic Vampires, just as we see and hear about them in stories. For Hammerfell, this means we'll have to be careful of where we tread at night in the desert, and for High Rock we'll have to be careful to not get infected with the specific strain of Vampirism that ties our life-force to the Vampire Clan leader's very own. All in all, this being said, from A-Z, start to end, I'm most excited to see Hammerfell and High Rock- if that's the way things happen.
Edit: Typo.
Second Edit, Addendum: With TGOTYA being tomorrow, I feel it is important to, whilst remaining hopeful, keep our expectations realistic. I understand there may be some of us who, for one reason or another, hang quite a bit of necessity on this franchise and its installments to help keep our mental well-being healthy. Those who do, remember: It's okay; VI will arrive when it is meant to. Always look towards the horizon, for there you will find some light to keep you guided and guarded, be it moon and star or sun. Keep strong, and know you aren't alone. We all, to some extent or another, enjoy The Elder Scrolls greatly.
he just didnt know how many trees there are, he was being funny. He didnt mean the game will have 111,112 or more trees. It might not have more trees, all he is talking abojt is that the game will have better visuals than skyrim
I don't think Bethesda had a charity on the line for that so I think yall are wildly overthinking a joke answer to ensure they don't win. I do think he was serious when he said more than Skyrim but 111,111 is such a wildly stupid answer I don't know why people are taking this as gospel.
could just be hammerfell considering its tropical regions.

You have people who still think Australia is all desert, people like to generalize stuff for some reason.
I still think it just means the map will be bigger. Plus, people need to consider all the kinds of trees that can grow in tropical and arid regions and all the more temperate regions in Hammerfell.
Just Hammerfell. There are dense forests in Hammerfell.
The one we know of is the Banthan Jungle, which is supposedly the lush tropical jungle region from the Daggerfall map.
I think Todd is just giving us a sense of scale
Cape Shira (Hegathe) is described as "lush and tropical" as well, plus the border regions of Craglorn around Skyrim should have pine forests and juniper groves, being basically essentially the same biome as the Reach and Eastern Falkreath.
Edit: I meant Western Falkreath, my bad.
Why eastern
Because I am directionally challenged and meant Western
I'm still confused that everybody is reading so far into the number he gave. Guys ffs its an 11/11/11 joke.
The date skyrim came out lol.
And its not valenwood. Stop spreading that cope.
Look at the subreddit you're in

I should know better kek.
Sure, but the landscape "trailer" could simply have been a red herring. I don't think the game was even in pre-production at that point.

It better have more Spriggans than Skyrim, that's all I gotta say.
I for one can't wait to count every single tree in game.
150x times the size of Skyrim.
150x

All 3. The game will be called The Elder Scrolls VI: Westerlands.
Hammerfell

[His post as mentioned by him]
U r golden, just downed some Advil so fingers crossed!
Names Pony boy, some tell me to stay golden 😂
Eyyyyyyyyy, I see what you did there! 😂

Todd said that his guess for the amount of Skyrim trees is 111111. Not that there'll be 111111 trees in TES VI. :)
People still saying just Hammerfell, are not using all the evidence
Valenwood sounds more appealing than Hammerfell.
It also sounds like there could be randomly generated areas... which could mean infinite trees.
I don't think Bethesda had a charity on the line for that so I think yall are wildly overthinking a joke answer to ensure they don't win. I do think he was serious when he said more than Skyrim but 111,111 is such a wildly stupid answer I don't know why people are taking this as gospel.
Look at the subreddit you're in
Ah yes how dare someone use logic rather than go along with the poisoned punch
You're supposed to be looney for Elder Scrolls VI
