Todd made a statement in a video with AnyAustin, were he guessed there are 111,111 trees in skyrim, and he said there will be more in TESVI.

What does this say about tesVI? Actually not that much. If you watched the AnyAustin video, he notes how skyrim's forest are extremely not dense, compared to real life, and even more modern games like KCD2 and RDR2. This is due to performance and development limitations of the time, that are no longer as big of issues. Pretty much everywhere on tamriel has forest, so depending on how much denser those forest are, it doesn't rule out any options.

Or does it? Todd probably knows that skyrim didn't have very dense forest and those in TESVI will have denser ones, he seemed pretty sure of his answer. This makes me think he the area in which TESVI is set has a lot of trees to begin with, as if Todd is this sure, it ought to be an obvious conclusion. This could also just mean TESVI still takes place in a region with few trees like Hammerfell, but is far larger then Skyrim in terms of map size.

If I had to guess it is a combination of the both. Todd Hesitates at first to answer. If TESVI was in valenwood, you would think he would answer quickly yes. If TESVI was a bigger map size in Hammerfell+Highrock, his slight hesitation before being certain of an answer would make sense.

This raises some questions about the main theory of TESVI being just Hammerfell. For Todd to be certain it has more trees, the map would have to be so much larger.

  • It means that Todd and Bethesda have been mentioning TES6 (in this case unprompted) a lot more as of late

Exactly. I should have said this in my post, because this is the biggest takeaway.

You know what, thats enough for me. Finally they talk even a little bit about it. And thats all I need honestly

Yeah they seem to have weirdly ramped up mentions lately.

We are currently in the "Todd giveth" phase, please stay tuned for "and Todd taketh away" phase.

We’ve had “Todd taketh” for seven years now, I do think this is an intentional and meaningful uptick in willingness to acknowledge the existence of TES6.

They're riling up the crowds, turning them rabid in an attempt to deny their opposition any sales.

Or something, who knows anymore. I just want a F03 remaster and ES6, thats all I know.

I got a feeling that fo3 remaster will come sooner than es6.

cause it's their next game to release and it's finally in full development

They are fueled by the fires created by the hopium- that they themselves created.

    Its like a self-fueling machine.

Wow, well I'll bust out the Champaign then..

almost like the marketing has already begun or something lol.

  • Release date of Skyrim 11/11/11 hence the guess of 111,111.

He says there are more trees in Elder Scrolls 6 so..... 111,126 or 111,127 which means.....

    It just works

Elder scrolls 6 releases 11/11/11 confirmed

    11 november 2111

Which means what? WHAT DAMN YOU!?! Don’t fish eat other fish?! The marlin and the trout!

    Release the tree date!

11-11-26, or 11-11-27. That's the prediction here if that's what Todd was implying. Which I don't think so. I'd hope it would be sooner. But I'm concerned it actually could b longer at this point..

    He clearly means 11/11/3011

    Confirmed elder scrolls releases 12/12/3012

It doesnt have to be November 11th though.. could be released any day in December; any year. Alternatively, November 11-30th; any year. Could surprise drop it for new year's eve in a couple weeks.. although it feels more likely to see WW3, followed by real-life Fallout, at this point.

He is a freemason 33 grade

    My thoughts exactly

  • TESVI promo phase has officially started, my guess is we will see a trailer in the next 6 months

The game will be ready by March 2027 (not necessarily release)... I believe, so anywhere from June to December for trailer.

    11/11/2026 is the release date

Todd has said “15 years” in interviews regarding the gap between Skyrim and TESVI… could be a generalization but I think he’s being specific

From your lips to God’s ears. Or Todd’s ears.

    Mmmm... Todd's ears 🤤🤤🤤🤤

I keep forgetting that this is not TrueSTL and that there might be sane people reading this

Tht doesnt quite add up with tod being so out and promoting es6 as of late. If bethesda usualy promotes their games a year out then 2027 is to late.

where did u get that info btw?

6? Try less then 3 months

    Talk dirty to me

Don't do this to me bastard!

  • Hammerfell has some trees. My off again on again character comes from Totambu, which is subtropical jungle. Not everything is Alik'r Desert.

Sure but Hammerfell also has mountains and plains. Just eyeballing it, I'd reckon that the two provinces have comparable overall tree coverage. If it's the deliberate hint that I feel it is, I think it at least tells us that it won't be a Skyrim-scaled Hammerfell-only game.

There will probably be a more realistic tree density, but also a game map 4x the size of Skyrim. (I say that because we have maps that size in Starfield, so they can definitely do it. Plus Skyrim map was pretty small all things considered).

I like this idea. If it indeed means something, then we're probably looking at the least Hammerfell and High Rock.

  • We finally got official news about TESVI

Y’all realize he was completely joking mere seconds before saying this, right? This whole bit could just be a bit.

Y’all realize he was completely joking mere seconds before saying this, right? This whole bit could just be a bit.

This whole bit could just be a bit.

This bit could be a bit.

    bit = bit.

Yeah, but the fact that Tood went out of his way to say anything unprompted about TES VI means that they are leading up to something. The last time they did this I believe was the tweet with the map that they wanted to analyze for something or other. But this feels different. A short-form clip with a specific reference to the Skyrim Release Date really feels like the beginning of promotions. Maybe not! They've done it before. But, I choose to believe that this one is different.

The game even being mentioned after multiple fucking years of zero word on it is enough to consider that they are more comfortable talking about it, hence being closer to a release.

  • Oblivion had denser forests than Skyrim lol

Yeah, I think all this means is that we’re overestimating how many trees we remember in Skyrim.

Half the map is ice and plains.

I was just thinking about how heavily forested skyrim is before I remembered my 5 different mods that add trees and foliage lol

GREAT point that is probably skewing a lot of people’s perceptions!! I just reinstalled it recently for my kids on console, so was seeing it vanilla. There are places with a lot of them, though they’re pretty spaced apart, but there’s also a lot of places with basically none.

You just brought me back to reality I was just thinking the mods were the game at this point

  • 111,111

    11/11/11 the release of Skyrim.

    WHAT DOES IT MEAN TODD

He held up one finger and said "more". 11/11/26 confirmed. No further questions will be taken at this time.

One more year! One more year! One more year!

    Subscribed, flair updated

That 1 finger means it will be 1 more tree: 11/11/12 (11 november 3012)

Number of trees in Skyrim: 111,111

    Skyrim release date: 11/11/11

Number of trees in TESVI: more than 111,111

He must be hinting at the TESVI release date being some date after 11/11/11 :o

  • might suggest it won’t take place in a desert; but might not too. 🤡

Hammerfell is a very diverse province. Arguably the most diverse, not all of it is the Alik’r (and even that has palm trees). It has subtropical rainforests and mountainous areas of coniferous trees. The Cyrodiil border should be more Mediterranean-esque, akin to Anvil.

South is jungle and forests close to valenwood. east is mountains and oblivion and high rock. North is snowy mountains like skyrim and west is deserts and ocean .so yea very diverse. The most diverse thing wil more likely be the coasts which never were properly done in an elder scrolls game

On the surface it seems like this statement says a lot about TESVI. In reality, it says very little, only gives room for more speculation.

The most interesting thing about this is that they are starting to talk about TESVI to begin with.

Hammerfell has areas of swamp and jungle, as well as Mediterranean and alpine areas. Even if they made up only a small part of the map, the advancements in technology since Skyrim would mean they could be way more dense.

    Oblivion was jungle too lol

The blackwood was pretty much a jungle, they just didn't have the tech back then to make it dense.

    Cyrodil

And they only changed to more medieval generic slop because Todd saw Lord of the Rings and wanted to do that

There is no reason why they wouldn't do lore accurate Hammerfell, they did do Lore Accurate Skyrim after all and everything in ESO is pretty lore Accurate too (Except for Golden Road, but we don't talk about Golden Road..)

    deserts have trees

many trees in fact. Not to mention the map will more than likely be bigger than Skyrim's, so even if it were a very tree-sparse desert, it'd still have more trees because of the sheer map size.

And Skyrim has a lot of plains and tundra, and even the forests aren't that dense.

i know, but usually not near as many. still, i left room for that possibility by also saying “it might not suggest that too”

Hammerfell and high rock both confirmed

If it includes both Hammerfell and High Rock then the latter is home to many forests.

  • This is very interesting.

I don’t think it rules out Hammerfell at all. Hammerfell is well known in lore (and I hate this, but it’s there) to have a huge jungle on its northern, sometimes northwestern depending on the map, border (that’s right, right by the mountains). If you have the tech to really do a jungle and you’re doing Hammerfell with it’s jungle then it’s pretty easy to know you’re doing more than Skyrim.

Second, I don’t think there’s anywhere close to 111,111 trees in Skyrim (I’m pretty sure it’s closer to the 70k mark EDIT: apparently that’s what the video this was taken from was about, pretty cool video, check it out). This would be pretty easy to check in the creation kit, there’s only like 30 tree variants, and you should just be able to add them up. Which suggests, to me, two things. First, 111,111 is a deliberate reference (I think patently to 11/11/11 for Skyrim’s release) rather than an attempt at a serious answer. Second, the point of that video was not to answer the first question, which tells us something interesting about their intent with regard to making the video.

Matt, the guy in the back is the brand manager for BGS

there is 46k trees in Skyrim according to article. Modded though has way more cause I have forest around Whiterun.

  • TESVI VALENWOOD LETSSSS GOOOO

I’ve always been a Valenwood hoper, since the waiting period for TES5 in fact, but I think this is yet another off the cuff remark that I can’t really read into.

But it does give me some hope as “less” would have at least pretty easily ruled out the forest province versus the half tundra province.

  • I am finding it curious that they are starting to freely speak of Elder Scrolls VI, even a little, after 7 years of radio silence.

At first glance this is absolutely nothing, but also it's not, if more trees, it means it's slightly possible that it's not just Hammerfell. Hammerfell has trees of course, but one would not thing hugely dense. Even Craglorn in ESO doesn't have a huge amount.

    Curious.

It's the holidays and the devs are feeling generous.

The province scale of the last three mainline games has been fairly consistent, but I think that the scale is going to change with TES6, making game areas much, much larger.

Because scale can be arbitrary (and the "true" size of the world each game represents is so huge), Bethesda could make a game about about even the smallest province but scale it several times larger than Skyrim.

What I'm getting at here is that even if Hammerfell's trees are fairly sparse throughout, I think that it could surpass Skyrim by just being so huge.

Although I expect Hammerfell to be more diverse than we often imagine, much like how Skyrim isn't just a frozen tundra, as it would make for a better game.

They finished working on Starfield and now TES is the main game they’re working on. Of course they’re talking about the main game they’re working on.

They weren’t talking about it for all those other years because they were working on Starfield instead.

Yeah I get that after seven years of waiting for more than a 20 second generic landscape teaser it’s easy to start creating narratives but I decided long ago that the only thing I will be getting excited about at this point is an official communication from Bethesda itself.

I have always been a High Rock guy and I dont care about Hammerfell so this is very encouraging news to me.

  • So cool that he sent this clip to the creator. Todd seems like a cool guy

  • I want to deforest the lands like I did in Crysis.

  • Well the whole of Tamriel would contain more trees, right? ;)

For the folks who are worried that they’re just going to proc-gen the whole continent like Starfield, they will take this as confirmation, yeah.

  • Skyrim released on 11/11/11. This is symbolic teasing. Do with that what you will

Exactly. The whole bit was just a joke for a community fan video.

  • I think you’re vastly overestimating how much of Hammerfell is a treeless desert.

  • He's just fucking with us at this point

  • at least we got news about SOMETHING

  • There is unrest in the forest
    Trouble with the trees
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas

A man of great taste if music I see!

  • At this point he's just ragebaiting us, he knows exactly what he's doing

The guy behind Todd is the brand manager, of course, this is not some throw away statement.

    Still ragebaiting

  • The marketing has begun

Matt behind Todd is the brand manager, so yes, it is marketing

  • Do you have any “lies” in mind that you can prove weren’t true when he said them?

  • Confirmed ES6 will be released in the year 111,111

  • You know we’re cooked when people start theorizing about tree counts

  • Valenwood?

  • You cut out a bit of the flavor, he says: "More... most definitely more...". He really emphasized that last bit, hinting at either more dense forested areas or just the sheer scale of the next title.

  • Had to repost this on my phone so the video would show correctly.

  • The hesitation is the way Todd speak when he does not want to reveal too much

  • ...the game will be set in both Hammerfell and High Rock and/or have a larger overall map size.

  • Unless the jungles and rainforests of Hammerfell are massively larger territorially than Skyrim's forested areas in a place where desert, savannah and grasslands are the bigger biomes, this could point towards the whole Illiac Bay theory or, to a lesser extent, Valenwood.

  • When is this from?

Posted today in vid on Any Austin’s channel

I’m so used to Bethesda doing anything they can to not talk about TESVI that my first instinct was that this was AI 😂

  • releasethetreenumbers

  • More trees in TES 6 than 5 youtubers next month: huge leaks on TES 6

  • Tbf, he just said trees. Never specified what kind. And Hammerfell has thick jungles.

  • If it's not Hammerfell/Illiac Bay then it'll most likely be Summerset, that's always been my theory

Valenwood, Hammerfell, and Summerset. Based on everything, I think that

Ooooh, you're right! Honestly, I sorta just keep forgetting about the wood elves and that they have their own entire country/province. Personally, I'm even leaning more towards it being set in Summerset in some way these days due to the fact that after building up the Thalmor so much in Skyrim, having a game where the player character gets to potentially topple their regime from directly WITHIN Thalmor territory would be something that Bethesda would be insane to pass up on without heavy lore additions.

  • That means 15 fps on my Xbox Series X. 🥴

  • There will be a lot more threes... 3/3/33

  • This video may be silly, but there is a lot to pick at. Obviously Hammerfell is far more than a desert, but could there be more trees also because High Rock is part of the map? Food for thought.

  • Which means now you can teleport to a daedric plain of ONLY trees! And Christmas trees in homes!

(Plz let it be Hammerfell imma be pissed)

  • This is not about trees cmon guys. 11/##/2# or 12/##/2# is what he's teasing. Any number higher than 11/11/11. (Filling in the blanks is a guess for anybody, not sure why some people are so confident with guesswork)

  • Todd has just single handedly fed this sub for 5 more years lmao

  • Finally the tree news I've been waiting for. Now I can wait the next few years until TES 6 comes out in peace.

  • The fact he's talking about es6 at all is a good sign!

  • I will say before the video cuts off he says "More, defidently more"

  • Todd looks 60 years old and 16 years old at the same time.

  • He answered too quickly, IMO.

This means it's either a MUCH larger map, where there is no question.

OR, we're going to have portals to procedurally generated realms, meaning it's technically an infinite amount of trees.

  • How fucking wild would it be if TES VI includes Hammefell, Valenwood, and High Rock? Would make sense why they’ve taken so long.

there is the hype train chugging along to its ultimate demise.

Reminder that so far they’ve only taken 2 years. Before that they were mostly making Starfield.

I think Hammerfell and Summerset would be perfect. You can pick your side in the Thalmor war. A lot of ship battles. Something like in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

  • 16 times the trees!

  • Guys! Guys! He said there’s gonna be more trees in 6 than Skyrim. I…I need time to figure out the implications of what he just said.

  • I wanna say maybe it’s not Hammerfell now because half of Skyrim is decently wooded. But at the same time CE2 can handle a greater density and much larger scale so maybe Hammerfell wood regions are that big or maybe the art of Bonsai trees is extremely important to the culture

Exactly; even if it was just part of the map has trees like Skyrim, there would be a lot more trees in the same amount (or less) of map.

  • Valenwood confirmed

  • In all seriousness I think his estimate in Skyrim is a joke and I wouldn’t expect more than 111111 trees in TESVI, but I do think there will be more in the next game either way. I’m expecting a much larger map and with it, more forests.

Of course his skyrim-release-date answer was a joke.

  • Don’t think it really actually means much other than tesvi probly won’t take place entirely inside the desert province of hammerfell, if he’s being honest that there are more trees in tesvi, the 111,111 was def just a joke about Skyrim’s release date or somethin

It could easily still be fully hammerfell and have more trees than skyrim. There's a few things wo do not know, like whether or not the actual area of the map of tes 6 will be much bigger than skyrims or how the 15 years since skyrim came out will have progressed bethesdas capability in their engine. Starfield was a tiny hint but we dont know what a handcrafted bethesda game in the late 2020s looks like and it could potentially be way bigger than skyrim was in terms of explorable area, so even the smaller lush sections of hammerfell could potentially be as big as skyrim was without factoring in the fully desert area of the province

  • Wood elves confirmt

  • It was just a joke, y’all. Don’t read too much into a joke.

The 111, 111 was a meme, the second answer was not

  • VALENWOOD BELIEVERS, NOW IS OUR TIME!!!

  • I feel like this could be an insinuation that there are less trees. Like you know less forests more deserts etc. Alternatively this could be exactly as he says, there are more trees and maybe large forests. Maybe it is a hint that the map is more than just desert?

well yeah, they wouldn't just make an elder scrolls game with just desert, that's crazy and people would throw hissy fits like crazy.

They often play with the size/scope of the world that ends up in the game. Just because we see a map of hammerfell or highrock or both and compare sizes with skyrim, the scale of that region in the game could be much much larger and more expansive than what our interpretation of a map current-day is.

  • Trees in cities? Skyrim hardly had any but Oblivion had a lot

  • My TES 6 copium is rising

  • High Rock confirmed? (/s or maybe not /s)

  • What does this mean for TESVI?Official News

Hell, what does this mean for SKYRIM! We need massive reforestation of our northern province now!

  • ATP I’m all but certain it takes place in Hammerfell, the fact ESO has hardly touched the Redguards is very telling on that front, but more trees than Skyrim? I know Hammerfell is more than just the Alik’r, but I’m so interested to see how Hammerfell is going to be portrayed in TESVI

  • 123,125 is the most trees for this year, and also is more than 111,111.

  • thanks anyaustin

  • Valenwood or black marsh

  • Love AnyAustin so much his content is keeping me alive /lh

  • We know hammerfell is the ES6 province, but hammerfell is majority desert (ik there are forests near the cyrodiil and skyrim border) so does this mean todd just confirmed high rock being in the game because it has fairly dense forest coverage.

  • Summerset Isles confirmed EZ Clap

  • Valenwood, right? Nothing else would make sense for him to say that

  • is high rock that foresty? daggerfall aint, maybe they changed it to valenwood that would go crazy

  • This is great PR for Any Austin’s upcoming census video

  • Tree Howard doesn't manscape

  • 16 times the trees

  • Hell yeah high rock/hammerfell truthers are right

  • What kind of trees? Maybe not just tree trees, what about skill trees?

  • Todd, you N'wah.

  • Todd has to come on this sub and get a good laugh i hope he enjoys it.

  • So it is not hammerfell?

  • Idk why but I have a strange feeling that we're gonna get both Hammerfell AND High Rock.

  • Willl it be 16x the trees?

  • I pray this means we get Hammerfell + Highrock. Would love to explore the Breton homeland

  • Probably Elsweyr?

  • I love the Todd tree hesitation analysis

  • Well, we need to find a date, that converts to a number greater than 111,111

Todd is American, so is Bethesda. They use mm.dd.yy format. So speculated release date of 06.26.26 is out of the question since 62,626 < 111,111

    What's greater than 111,111? 111,126, aka 11.11.26.

This is my portion of hopium, even though obviously it could be 12.01.26 or 11.11.30 or anything else really. But 11.11.26 is going to be a 15 year anniversary, and Todd looooves his dates.

  • Maybe we will see other continents than Tamriel?Akavir for example?Or Pyandonea? There are trees,I guess. How to get there? By ship. Sea battles! Could someone please ask him, if there is more water in TES VI than in Skyrim?!

  • Well, Hammerfell has big desert, so if there would be more trees, then it might mean that TES6 would not be in Hammerfell, or it would be bigger than just Hammerfell or it would have part of Hammerfell and part of some other province.Well, Hammerfell has big desert, so if there would be more trees, then it might mean that TES6 would not be in Hammerfell, or it would be bigger than just Hammerfell or it would have part of Hammerfell and part of some other province.
