Hi,

I’m thinking of getting a SP11 core ultra 7 as a personal laptop for studying and using copilot. Is it good for this?

  • Yes, absolutely. Just check if an OLED screen is right for you - while contrast and colors are awesome, the technology is not without drawbacks that won't matter to one group if users, but do matter a lot to another. The Ultra 5 versions come with an IPS screen.

Of course the kickstand and keyboard do bring with them some limited lapability, but I presume that this is something you already took into account.

Yep, with the keyboard as it will mostly be on my desk it’s fine but I might buy a flex keyboard for smaller places e.g keyboard on lap and tablet on desk.

You can go check my review for SP11 ultra 7 with Flex keyboard. I mainly use it as my to go laptop except gaming, replacing my ROG gaming laptop.

  • If you really want to use it for laptop then it's better to get Surface Laptop. Get SP if you want pen and tablet for factor

  • If you don't mind the small screen size, then yeah! I'm still using an SP3 for media consumption/web browsing, that thing can still hold a battery for hours after so many years!

Yea I’m looking for a small size so it can also sorta replace my iPad at the same time.

  • Yes it's amazing. I have one myself. If you want a note-taking app for studying you can give us a try r/Noteastic.

  • 11 is the tablet but yes, it's about as good as it gets for a small Windows portable.

Yea I meant for like laptop use apologies, it’s cause sometimes people think of it as a laptop/tablet.

No worries, and this is IMHO the interesting device too, there's plenty of competition for laptops but full Windows tablets not really. Intel Lunar Lake probably none.
