Does anybody know if there's a way to get Suno to follow your audio upload more closely? I thought it would be fun to upload some of my older 4-track recordings to see how they're reinterpreted. (Yeah, I'm "I used to record on a 4-track" years old)

Some results have been interesting, and for others, especially my more complex pieces, I would like it to stay pretty close to the source material.

  • I did exactly what you’re doing with some of my old 4 tracks. I found that If I left the style prompt empty, left the weirdness & style influences set at the default 50%, and bumped the audio influence up to around 85%, I got versions that closely matched what I uploaded, but with far better production.

  • This is one of the three sliders you can adjust when you're generating a song. It's called Audio Influence.

  • It follows my old Tascam recordings pretty close by just setting the audio influence to max and everything else low. For style I either leave blank or sometimes add a short description of any enhancements to the original demo, such as an analog 70's studio sound.

One note though is not to set the audio influence too high if your old recordings have flaws you don't want copied. My first attempt copied my exact guitar warble caused from the old, worn out tape. Not the kind of effects pedal I remember using...lol

    100% this ^

It's like a cartoon version of whatever you put into it when you go too high on the audio slider.

  • I've had mixed results. I generally set the Audio Influence to at least 85%. If there's a distinct verse and chorus, Suno is usually pretty good at replicating those. It's even imitated (and improved upon) stuff like existing guitar riffs etc. Still, I've had a bit less luck with less standard stanzas.
