V1 reduces graphics quality to improve its reaction time (for the average gamer), which is why ULTRAKILL looks like that. V1 heals by making the enemy bleed, but this isn't necessary when V1 is untouchable for the two reasons mentioned above.

I think V1 was made as a “Super Soldier” and V2 was more of a police officer/ peace keeper
