Started Way of Kings a few weeks ago and I’m hooked. Just finished Words of Radiance. Incredible. Can’t put down the series. As they come to me, I’ve been writing down how I picture the characters in my head and it’s formed this sort of cast list. This is what I have so far. I’m sure I’ll have to update a lot of these as I get further in the series as I’ve already had to update characters as they get more color from book 1 to book 2. Would love any feedback/help on additional characters
You want to know the difference between a spren and the storm father? Presentation!
Made my day!^
my day made! ^^
Zazu as Dalinar is a new one for me.
I assumed he was referring to James Earl Jones…
James earl jones storm father though?
Ahh good point. His voice already rumbles like thunder.
To bad its too late for that
Yes I agree Rowan Atkinson would make a great Dalinar
"I think it's time that you and I arranged a heart to heart"
“Kings don’t need advice from vision seers, for a start”
“If this is where the monarchy is headed, count me out. Out of service, out of Alethkar, I wouldn’t hang about.”
-most likely Navani
He would make interesting Taravangian imho
Zazu as Dalinar is a bold choice.
Stormfather:

Underrated.
I legit always read Shallan's Dad as having Denathor's voice. Very similar vibes
This casting post is so nailing it. Denator is the best of them. I was picturing him as Shallan’s dad all along.
No no, this is Szeth.
To those who don’t know, this is Anthony Carrigan who has starred in shows like Gotham, Barry, & Twisted Metal. Most recently, he also played Metamorpho in Superman.
Funny, I kind of like the idea of Tilda Swinton. When she played Gabriel in Constantine, it was perfection.
This is who I always picture
[removed]
Hey they just started they said.
I’ve thought since I first read stormlight that navani looks like madam gothel. Like it’s legit what I’ve pictured in my head all these years. Glad to see I’m not alone
A cross between her and Shohreh Aghdashloo (specifically as she appeared in The Expanse)
Edit: honestly, her look in The Wheel of Time may actually be spot-on
Now imagine Rock 300x more precious and you nailed it.
Idk about the Kaladin one, the rest are pretty good though lol.
everyone knows this is the perfect actor for kaladin

Journey before destination. Football is life.
Danny Danny Danny Danny ROJAS
Danny Roshar! Danny Roshar!
Football before death
100%. I've always seen him as Dev.
Ooh, ooh, this is the one! Tall and gorgeous.
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED BY MY BOON???
I imagine that one came about in OPs head because Kaladin's arc in The Way Of Kings is very similar to Maximus in Gladiator.
Kaladin id go more Sandman
I thought Russel Crowe would actually make a great Dalinar. I mean Maximus was rather similar to him. I think his voice and gravitas could swing it. But he would have to seriously get in shape for the role. He might be too old to do it now but like 10 years ago would have been perfect.
Same, I actually use Maximus as my Dalinar model but that’s way off for Kaladin.
Gosh darnit, who let the cremlings in r/cremposting get into this sub again?
You would be far more appreciated over at /r/cremposting
I know its not spot on but I always think Noel Fielding would be a fun Wit

Too silly, not enough gravitas when actually having one serious scene per book.
Certainly cant imagine him pulling off the "Wit, harsher" scene 😅 but he is a marvellous disarming rambler
I do agree - I suppose he is perfect as Wit, the problem is at some point he'd have to play Hoid as well
I was just saying Dylan is my kaladin
I can’t help but see this gorgeous maniac as Wit 🤩

Honestly, fantastic Shallans dad. I imagine him a bit larger overall, but personality and aesthetic 100%
Stormfather :D
r/cremposting is leaking again 😂
Taravangian is the Sultan from Aladin.
This is the only cast list post I will ever upvote.
The Alethi aren't white. They have Asian features. It's described pretty frequently as you progress through the books. Kaladin is middle eastern looking.
If you look up fan art for the characters there are some pretty good ones, and some fan casts that do accurately depict what the books describe
No this is Syl
https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Celebi_(Pok%C3%A9mon)
People want Kaladin to be white so so bad.
Its a meme cast.
I love Glen Powell, but his whole thing is he's good at playing guys who are assholes but with a little bit of charm that you either reluctantly kinda like or come around to realizing isn't actually that bad by the end of the movie.
I'm pretty sure Adolin is supposed to be a lot more straightforwardly likeable.
FYI What people of Roshar look like: https://www.reddit.com/u/dIvorrap/s/1xmGK6NgIu
stormlightsowhite
Most excellent.
Nailed it. No notes
I thought pic 4 was Lift😂
You didn't have to do storm father like that
How dare you sir, Navani is a Thicc (literal) queen, and I won't stand for less.
if I see glen powell in the stormlight archive I’m gonna die
My dream casting for Rock
This is hilarious, because I also can't see Navani as anybody other than Mother Gothel and Shallan as Merida. I see Dalinar as Rapunzel's father, though. I have young kids so many of my ideas of these characters are Disney based too!
I love whatever is wrong with you, get back to r/cremposting smh
Syl isn't Tink. Syl is Navi from Zelda!
https://i.redd.it/uom10w4q16ag1.gif
Adolin is much more attractive than puffy Dennis Reynolds, and I'll thank you to not disrespect his character like that again.
Brad Pitt in Inglorious Bastards
That'll do 😌
Glen Powell is 100% on point for Adolin. All of these are perfect tbh.
if you ever listen to the audiobooks i think michael kramer actually would be the perfect dalinar
Szeth was definitely inspired by ezio
r/cremposting is that way 👉
I think Sadie Sink would be a good shallan.
Congrats, I hate every single one of these....
OK, I'm laughing.
Glen Powell is so hot
Rock is DEFINITELY The Rock
Dalinar will always be Josh Brolin, in my mind. And Gavilar is a bearded Oscar Issacs. Those two from Dune are spot on, imo.
I know Dalinar is clean-shaven, but I've always pictured Omni Man from Invincible, or King Bradley from Full Metal Alchemist, or Cyan Garmonde from FFVI. For some reason, the slicked back dark hair with a mustache combo has become head-canonical.
The storm father cracked my up so much
https://preview.redd.it/x74fuyvuf7ag1.jpeg?width=360&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1d190cdb91280964d1de67d95e6bfe1e6c26b62c
For some reason I’ve always seen Taravangian as this guy.
Stormfather is the best one
I approve of your totally inaccurate castings.
My own headcastings are also completely wrong. Saitama will forever remain my Szeth headcast.
Incredible rage bait, good work.
The storm father as megamind 💀💀💀💀
I've always seen navani that way lol. It can't be undone.
Crazy how I dont disagree with the one with Dalinar
The fuck? I didn't realize the main sub is now r/cremposting
The stormfather one cracked me TF up😂😂
Okay, how the storm when I do this, it's insta-deletion?
(Don't delete this guys post, bring mine back)
Love this!! 😂😂😂 To add to your post, my perfect casting choice for Amaram would Henry Cavill. At his current age at least, add ten years then he's my choice for Dalinar
From some story similarities, but no description similarities…this is how I picture Dalinar 😂

The stormfather one got me
Too accurate
