My favourite part of it is the line “I can see the ladies talking how the times are getting hard”, and if I’m remembering correctly that line is sort of a dig at the original members of the band like David Palmer and Jim Hodder, and their disagreements with Becker and Fagen. Overall incredible song and probably my favourite off of Katy Lied
Whenever someone’s says Fagen can’t sing I point them to this song. It’s one of the few where he actually sounds sincere and earnest. The blend with McDonald on the pre chorus’s is incredible “laughing at the frozen rain and I feel lakam.. soooo alone”.

Yes I love his vocals in this one - not sounding too nasal as he sometimes does. And Michael McDonald is a brilliant singer.
