I actually thoroughly enjoyed it while it was implemented before the Steam Deck released. :( it made Steam feel like you were playing a console of sorts.
People actually used big picture mode? I thought it was just the button you accidentally press to blow out your ear drums and mess up your desktop icons.
So much about big picture mode I preferred before the steam deck released. I preferred steam as a whole before the steam deck released.
I still have an old steam install I use just for the old big picture mode.
You can add the background music back in with a decky loader plugin, but I was kinda bummed no one pulled off an old style big picture mode theme. I assumed it wouldn't work out.
You can change the scale sizing in the settings under font size, it will in turn make all the game tiles smaller as well. I always thought default big picture made my 27" feel really small, but it was just the huge UI meant to be seen on a 7" display.
There are options though:
Play any OST you own and it will keep playing in the background
Use Decky Loader (it has a Windows build, btw) + AudioLoader plugin. Then just enable music there and get some packs.

To be honest, I don’t know but I think I got used to normal sized Steam WAAAY too much

Wait are you talking about changing the size of the actual big picture mode or just the regular Steam cuz I only know of the regular Steam?
