The imposter is actually my initials in the form of a constellation. I could certainly rework them, probably will if I ever make it again. It is definitely a matter of taste and style. Considering adding blue and black resin to the piece. Black around the constellations and blue like the gates, in the background.
It gives an explanation... but not really. On top of that, why would the ancients use THAT symbol when that is the symbol of the gate that RA brought to Earth and not the original symbol for the Gate found in Antarctica? (sun over the horizon). Earths PoO is not a constellation but a symbol of the Sun over the Ra's Pyramid.
The explanation is that the show doesn't make sense. Six points plus a point of origin to chart a course doesn't even make sense. In SGU, how can Icarus dial Destiny if the address is a code that is only supposed to be dialed from earth, as Eli suggests. The Icarus gate wouldn't have that symbol, that's the whole point, right? And why are they using the Pyramid PoO anyway?

Didn't they reprogram the gate/dialing computer to be able to dial from Icarus, basically fooling it to think it's on earth.
As for the six points plus a point of origin. That makes sense.
