Yesterday a Revan fig I ordered came in, and I was able to do a female custom for the character. Since the game allows you to choose your character’s gender, I thought it’d be cool to have a version of both. So, I already had a normal Revan and a Jedi Knight Revan. I ordered a second Darth figure for the base, and planned it out while I waited for the figure to arrive. The head sculpt is from a GI Joe figure and the hair is from the unmasked Spider Gwen head. I removed the hair/hat from GI Joe head sculpt and removed the hair from the Spider Gwen head sculpt. I trimmed both down so that they’d fit well together, then I painted the hair sculpt black. After painting I hit it with a clear coat and then applied Mr. Cement to the pieces so that they’d become one. The Revan figure, I started by carefully cutting the hood off by using an X-Acto knife. I did my best to follow the molded folds in the hood so that it’d be as clean as possible. With the hood removed, then I could take the helmet off. The head sculpt fits well on the Revan neck peg, so nothing had to be done there. To have the option to use the original hood, I took a Dremel and thinned out the plastic inside of the hood to allow for maximum clearance. The hood is not secured to the body itself, but does fit snuggly on the head sculpt. So, this allows the nice look of the molded hood, the ability to turn the figures head/hood unlike standard Revan, and the ability to go hoodless. I might mess around with head sculpts some more, I’m undecided. I’m thinking about trying the Marvel Legends Yelena head sculpt and seeing how that looks. I didn’t alter the body at all, because in the game the character model for Darth Revan was the same regardless of the gender the player chose. I’m super happy with how it turned out though!
