Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some feedback on my current stack. I have idiopathic hypersomnia and treatment-resistant depression and have been on various stimulants for years, so my tolerance is pretty high. I’m trying to build an energy + motivation stack that’s safe, sustainable, and actually noticeable.
Here’s what I’m currently taking:
⸻
🧠 Prescription Meds (all taken at night): • Cymbalta • Vraylar • Gabapentin • Norethindrone (progesterone) • Levocetirizine (antihistamine)
Taking them at night helps avoid daytime sedation.
⸻
⚡ Morning (current routine):
Upon waking: • Nuvigil (Armodafinil)
20 minutes later (with a snack): • Vitamin D • B-complex • Multivitamin • CoQ10 • ALCAR (500–1000 mg) • L-Tyrosine (500–1000 mg) • Sabroxy (starting with 50–75 mg, working up to 100–150 mg) • Optional but considering adding: KSM-66 Ashwagandha (300 mg)
⸻
🌤️ Midday (as needed): • Sabroxy microdose (25–50 mg) • Hydration + protein • Light movement
⸻
🌙 Nighttime Supplements (2–3 hrs before bed): • Agmatine (500–1000 mg) • Ashwagandha (400 mg, standard form) • Magnesium (optional)
📌 Context / Goals: • I have high stimulant tolerance from long-term use • I deal with low motivation, low energy, and hypersomnia • I’m sensitive to anxiety but not really sensitive to stims anymore • I’m trying to rebuild dopamine sensitivity and get functional daytime energy • Looking for advice on adjustments, additions, or safety considerations
⸻
❓ Questions for the community: 1. Does this stack look balanced with my prescription meds? 2. Any thoughts on adding KSM-66 to the morning while keeping regular ashwagandha night only? 3. Would Rhodiola or Ginseng be worth exploring, or too stimulating on top of Nuvigil + Sabroxy? 4. Any recommendations for improving wakefulness without spiking tolerance further? 5. Anyone else with hypersomnia or TRD find a stack that finally moved the needle?
Thanks for any feedback — I’m trying to optimize without overdoing it, and I’d love input from people who’ve been in the trenches with dopamine/tolerance issues.

Before posting make sure your comment is polite and helpful.
Be aware that anecdotes, even your own anecdote could be an artifact of your beliefs. The placebo effect is just one way that suggestion affects our experience. Humans are social animals and the beliefs we accept can have a drastic impact on our experience. In many, if not most, cases the impact of our beliefs is greater than the impact of chemicals. This isn’t only true for herbs and supplements. ‘New’ or ‘dangerous’ sounding drugs can bring a rush when you first start taking them because of the fear and excitement. When the excitement wears off you’re back to baseline. Beware of the self-experimentation treadmill. If you aren’t finding sustainable solutions then reconsider your approach.

At night I'd replace Ashwagandha with L-Glycine & L-Tryptophan respectively.
