Back in the day I never realised you could lock parts of the code so I would sit there staring and memorising the individual parts as they flashed until I could enter them all at once.
Best thing to do is this, the little screen with the lock and numbers means you can cycle to the lit number and lock it, thus narrowing down right code. If you focus on the ones you did not lock and keep watching, you can find the one that is right. Combining both elements you can make hacking easier. Also when hacking, don’t leave when the depleting bar turns red or you’ll trigger alarm, pull out early.
If the number on the right is dull, then it is not part of the combination. So, here you know 191 is not in the first position, so ignore all of the first four combinations. You also know the second, third, and fourth positions won't have 66, 30, or 30, respectively. That narrows it down a bit, but not enough, yet.
If the numbers on the right light up, you know it's part of the combination.
Hard as in "This is so fuckin' cool and haven't been beaten as a hacking system by another game since most of them just use that stupid system with plumbing and water"?
when the right display has highlighted number, immediately press LMB, and some of the numbers on the left will be eliminated. keep pressing the highlighted number on the right until the door opened OR just press the remaining number that had been highlighted on the left panel. Keep in mind that you have limited times of trial, and there's no such acceptable accident even Fisher would say "It was an accident :("
Funny thing it's there are hacking video on training menu,i think sam explained it pretty well but a lot of ppl still strugling it and ask for help myself include. (first run)
It was such a baffling decision to make the tutorials video-only when the game introduces quite a few new mechanics... Great for the pacing, but still...
The one on the right will flash with one number at a time of the code, you gotta find it on the left.
Basically gotta Chameleon eye it and look at both at the same time.
Something that's weird about this is that all those IP addresses are valid public IPs. It would have been trivial for them to use fictional IPs (any number above 255 for example) or private IPs (10 for the first segment, although that'd mean only having to guess 3 other segments)
Zero risk to anyone who actually owns the IP addresses don't get me wrong, but it just seemed odd they didn't go with the "555 prefix in movies" logic.
Gotta wait for numbers to light up green on the right screen, and as you click them when they light up, it filters out what's possible on the left. Eventually, if you punch in 3 or all 4, there will only be one possible left on the list, and you click that one.
Whatever numbers show up in the bottom right, those are part of the one you need to delete on the left. So if 192 lights up bottom right, you know the one you need to select starts with 192. So you can ignore any that start with 191, 193 and 194 since we know it won't be any of those. Then just continue to do that with all of the numbers that come up until you know what your answer is
I was a young kid when I first played CT, but what I would do is just lock each and every number on the right tool as they lit up until the puzzle was done. I never realized you could move up and down on the numbers on the left and select the options yourself lmao
If the number is green on the tool at the right, click on it ! (LMB if I remember well)
You need to find the number combination that partly lights up on the tiny right screen
Back in the day I never realised you could lock parts of the code so I would sit there staring and memorising the individual parts as they flashed until I could enter them all at once.
Same bro i feel you✌️🥲
I didn’t know that till I discovered it online 💀💀💀

Eventually, you can deduce which one it is.

Yeah, absolutely.

Anything flashing green, I click
Otherwise a little deductive reasoning is in order
????? This is literally the easiest hacking system of all time. You're literally just matching numbers.
It's the easiest hacking mini game in the series. The frequency one in Double Agent V2 is much more frustrating.
Yeah that one was a pain.
Games nowadays spoon-feed you everything, that's why something so intuitive seems difficult,
Funny thing it's there are hacking video on training menu,i think sam explained it pretty well but a lot of ppl still strugling it and ask for help myself include. (first run)

You’re just matching the numbers on the right; the ones that light up. like Wack-a-Mole but with an IP address.
The one on the right will flash with one number at a time of the code, you gotta find it on the left.
Basically gotta Chameleon eye it and look at both at the same time.

As a dumb child playing this I was very confused until one day it just clicked.
Alright so I figured it out by the comments that I pick serial numbers from the right meter and match it with the left one serial numbers?
Gotta wait for numbers to light up green on the right screen, and as you click them when they light up, it filters out what's possible on the left. Eventually, if you punch in 3 or all 4, there will only be one possible left on the list, and you click that one.

Haha, same here, dude, but I enjoy it now more than the first time.
Find the number combination in the list that matches the all the numbers that light up
It’s part of the game’s difficulty. Just enjoy it while figuring out by yourself. You’ll thank me later
So easy haha
When a number lights up on the little screen on the right, click it
not gonna lie this is one thing about CT i always disliked. i like hacking in games but i far prefer the hacking in DA V2.
No wonder they stopped doing hacking mini games in conviction and blacklist
