If they don’t pay for services- what is their general idea of “exchange” with the world? Like why do they think they deserve these things for basically “free”? I understand their philosophy on the financial aspect but anthropologically, what is their contribution and exchange with the world?

Picture a man, at the base of Everest, who has launched a 2.5 kiloton bomb at the peak. It takes time for that avalanche of shit to reach the bottom. By the time it gets there, he'll have no idea what hit him and probably won't even associate the collapse of his life to the bomb he threw.
These morons assume that a pause in consequences equals 'right' or 'standing'. The Gov works slowly, grinding their cases and defendants to dust over time, like a glacier. Justice isn't swift, but it's through and devastating. The only thing this moron has right now is the calm before the storm.
I'm stealing this. That guy is in for a world of pain.
My father, a lawyer, who sued the gov a few times and as he said had it 15 min of fame in the legal world always said.
You can fight the government but never go out of your way to piss them off. They have a long memory and once they are really paying attention they can make your life hell.
This guy is taking not paying attention as if he won something.
The phrase my lawyer told me: “The wheels of justice turn slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine.”
I prefer “the long dick of the law rarely arrives lubed.”
Eh, I doubt it. I’m more inclined to believe he’s lying through his teeth to convince his audience that his methods will work.
Thorough
Not only through, but unlubed.
As i have seen it written once 'the dildo of consequence never arrives lubed'. Don't remember where I read that. Believe it was somewhere on Reddit
I really don't get it. I was $30 short on my taxes last year and they started getting those letters out QUICK.
Because you didn't close your eyes and pretend they weren't there.
I ignored a letter at my own peril. I had moved and paid my state taxes to two states. Then CA reconciled against my Fed and said I owed them more from the entire year. I had paid the correct amounts to the correct states (6 mos each), so I ignored the letter. Well by the time they garnished my fucking wages years later, it was too late to go back and prove I didn’t owe. So I paid and learned my lesson. Never. Ever. Ignore the tax man’s letters
Sad thing is if you had simply replied explaining you moved it would have been painlessly resolved.
Yup. A very stupid and very costly mistake. Nevermore!
This isn't necessarily true. Happened to my partner and the IRS wanted proof but by that point it was 2 years later and the apartment he rented had changed management. Apparently the company didn't get any paperwork and my husband hadn't kept his old lease so even though we "explained" it, they did not care.
We pointed out that the IRS could see where the paychecks had come from but they wanted proof of residence, so he ended up having to pay CO state back taxes even though he lived in TX the whole year.
Yea, the difference is that you understand the letters to be significant.
Yeah but I hear about people dodging tens of thousands in taxes for years. A month after I missed less than I have in my wallet, I was already getting threats for property leins.
Yes but threats != actual liens. They'll send letters for a while, then file in court, that takes time, etc. If you just ignore all that. You have a year or more before shit smacks you in the face.
BJW is getting them too. He just won't talk about them.
Then one fine day, The Taxman Cometh...
Probably used black ink like some kind of peasant.
Because they have an actual job, and pay their taxes. And magically, they don't do anything because things worked out just right so that their taxes were paid for properly. So they don't owe any at the end of the year
But you haven't said the magic words that make bills disappear!
Well said.
Yeah I always tell people, “the government has time you don’t”
Unless his name is Trump.
Judgment day is coming
I don't believe in hell.
They're referring to the terminator sequel
Or, he's just completely full of shit.
“But I have no contract with the federal government” /s
Do people really believe this guy???
Yes
I believe anyone who tells me anything
You owe me $10 million US
Your 1099-A is in the mail
Nah man need it in negotiable American currency
My flag has a fringe so I Reverse Uno and now you owe me the $10 million
Sorry, I only take silver.
Best I can do is 20 Bison Bucks.
Abe Lincoln told me to believe you.
He posted it on the interwebs so it must be true.
I use all these social amenities but refuse to pay for them, bjw
This guy is a leech and co artist who teaches other people how to be leeching conartists
Yes. Just send him money and he will share his secret to this amazing life.
Ignoring tickets and notices doesn’t make them go away. Silly Brandon
What about closing your eyes and sticking your fingers in your ears while saying, “Nah, nah I can’t hear you”, does that work?
It worked for my daughter when she was 3. I feel like the frontal lobe development of a toddler and fully developed SovCidiot are very similar
It works until the deputies force open your door due to unpaid tax's and getting foreclosed on
It didn't work for this legal genius https://youtu.be/eqBCuBzE-2Q?si=hy_3irZFfPpN7rID
Edit: I completely forgot that BJW lives in Glendale, California and sure af pays sales tax, not to mention gas tax 🤣 That said, most California utility districts don't have weather patterns inclement enough to turn on electricity and gas services during the winter, thus nullifying #4.
Wait until he discovers penalties, interest and reconnection fees.
As someone who works in the utility sector: Yes.
With a 400k loan it's most likely a building so it's going to get foreclosed on very soon which isn't very fun and fun fact the irs can send you to jail if you don't pay your taxes as he committed tax evasion
Even cartels and the mafia know not to mess with the IRS. They go through a lot of effort and lose vast amounts of wealth laundering it to try to make it appear legit on paper.
They smuggle drugs, do extortion, and commit murder, but they still pay their taxes on time.
A lesson taught to Al Capone.
And FIFA. They got busted for money laundering because an American bank caught them structuring deposits to keep them under the $10,000 threshold that would have required a report to the IRS.
He's never gonna start a Credit Union at this rate!
I did foreclosure paralegal work for a while, and even in the case of homeowners who completely stopped paying, it generally took 3-6 months to formally evict and repossess the home.
This dude is probably receiving all the required notices, and composing some BS reply with a fancy made up stamp, and will confidently continue doing so right up until the sheriffs show up at his door
He might have found a valid tax exempt ID #. I worked for a large non profit that had tax exemption number when we were buying…. Anything. It was rather simple and straightforward to say, “this sale is tax exempt I have the ID# ready” the cashier would usually just sigh call a manager, manager would bring over a large binder write down name of org, date, amount of purchase tax ID # and complete the sale. Very basic and nearly no oversight. So that could be a loophole he is exploiting. We also had special fleet/credit cards for fuel purchases to remove those taxes.
Please google California Nonprofit Corporation Law and prepare to be a bit embarrassed. In order to have a valid tax-exempt ID as a registered California Non-Profit Organization, you have to file with the CA AG and *drum roll* the IRS for tax exempt status!
I've consulted directly with non-profits, state entities, as well as private businesses and assure you that this isn't what bjw is up to here. It would make his finances too visible. However, your description of how merchant relationships with non-profits is quite true: once the existence of your non-profit is verified, hitting up any reseller for a swift discount isn't hard at all!
Not to mention, you can't maintain a non-profit status (or any California registered corporate status) while not paying or filing taxes. You have to at least file your "Exempt Organizations Business Income Tax Return" form to prove you lost money or further explain your intentions with any net income.
He has a case open against the California Small Business Association, which would further indicate some kind of LLC/LLP registration, not NP.
I’m not saying he applied and got a legit number. I’m saying he could be using a legitimate non-profits tax-exempt number and using it for personal use without the legitimate non profit knowledge.
LOL one could only hope he's that stupid!
there are 50 states. he probably just registered as a non-profit in whichever state has the most lax laws/oversight.
I would be willing to bet at least 1 of the 50 states will believe you that you're a non-profit tax free organization just because you say so or throw words like "ministry" somewhere in the title of your organization.
But taxation and corporate registration is filed (effectively) the same way at a state level and tax breaks a federal level requires further filing and exposure of your income. In addition, if you are operating a non-profit in one state, you have to file as a "foreign" non-profit in any other state you operate in, as it becomes a federal taxation issue. Again, this would just further expose his financial standing and assets and nabbing a non-complaint non-profit operating across state lines would just be a welcome gift to the IRS.
I don't agree with the theory that bjw is navigating some weird non-profit registration loophole, but I surely agree he's a fraudster. And I'll have to go back to his SBA lawsuit, which doesn't describe standing for a non-profit entity, but it surely proves he's, somewhat ironically, cool with paying court filing and court appeal fees. The latter likely being higher than the monthly utility costs for his Glendale residence!
you're looking at this from the point of view of someone that wants to follow the law. this guy is just doing an illegal thing and banking on the fact that no one around him knows it's illegal, so they just let him do it.
The only people that know he's breaking the law are the IRS, and it's not like they send the IRS police to your door 15 minutes after you skip out on sales tax.
this guy can get away with this for years before they audit him. the whole time he thinks he "beat the system" but all that happens is he hasn't been caught yet.
Actually, I'm taking the view of someone who absolutely would not, under any circumstances, have the state or federal government up in their business. I completely agree that he's overdue for some financial reconciliation, but incorporating is not the way to stay under the radar. If you want to stay private as possible, you operate as a sole proprietor.
Going back to the California SBA lawsuit, bjw isn't running a registered non-profit. Here's a quick recap from the fine denizens of this subreddit on the event itself:
https://www.reddit.com/r/amibeingdetained/comments/1fm2q00/sovcit_guru_brandon_joe_williams_is_suing_the/
This thread also points out that bjw is/was a partner in a landscaping company, which goes back to one of his claims above. This isn't a non-profit operation; it's small business loan fraud.
you're missing the point. he's simply committing crime in public and relying on the fact that no one will stop him for years, if ever at all. he's not trying to get away with it, or do it in such a way that gives him some sort of out.
as long as the clerk at the store allows him to skip the tax, he thinks he has beat the system
I’m not missing any point made here. I’ve already acknowledged your point twice?
Then why do you keep trying to insist that he should be doing it a different way?
He could be using a businesses tax ID at Costco or similar places to avoid sales tax, but that will catch up with someone later.
the "discharges 400k" thing is most certainly his house. he's just lying about all of these things so he can sell "how-to guides" to gullible idiots.
he probably inherited his house from his parents and claims that he got it free and clear by sending a post-It note to the bank with an IOU from the federal reserve.
This will be a convenient summary when his creditors take him to court.
I use online bill pay for utilities, before that I paid by check. I have never paid for utilities using Federal Reserve Notes.
I haven’t paid for parking in over a year; I just don’t go to those kind of places anymore.
Not paying for parking is easy depending on where you live, like by walking everywhere you go, if able.
His car is impounded more often than it’s not, so no parking fees ;)
Also not getting a ticket/not paying any tickets he may have been issued is not the same as not “paying for parking”.
Couldn't all this be used against him in court?
Absolutely.
Not like it would matter since the banks and the government keep a tab on how much money you owe them so they already had a open and shut case against him before even admitting to it online
American Express and the Small Business Administration both have judgements against him and so far don't seem to have moved to collect. He might not have enough property to seize to make the effort worthwhile.
Amex won't seize/repossess property. A credit card is an unsecured loan which doesn't require any form of collateral to be given. Best they can do is kill your credit rating, garnish your bank account to recoup owed funds, and make sure you can never open another credit card again
*will be
They're using pretzel logic to convince themselves they should get paid in US currency for any work they do, but that people should send electricity and water to their house for free, etc. The logic probably doesn't go any deeper than "the currency I made up is just as real as the currency anyone else made up." But I bet if one of these guys tried to pay another one of these guys with "federal reserve notes" in exchange for hours of labor, or tangible goods, the shit would hit the fan. They know it doesn't make sense, deep down.
Well yeah it could be as real but the thing is that money only becomes actual money when it has widespread value and people can buy things with that money which also requires trust from whoever is printing it so they can feel like the money won't lose all the value overnight like yeah money is just paper but it's agreed buy almost everyone that it has value
And a big part of why everyone agrees it has value is that all federal state and local governments accept it as payment for taxes
Like I said basically everyone believes that it has value there have been cases where a country has had so much inflation that they give up on using their own currency and switch to usd because they don't trust their own money anymore
Yup. Deep down, the real measure of value is "how much will the tax man accept this for".
Everyone pays taxes, so everyone can use whatever the government accepts.
It couldn’t be a thing. They believe they all have some ridiculous value of notes. If it were usable then inflation would hit rapidly and the value would sink, there’s not enough money for everyone to have the hundred million or billion or whatever they claim
The belief isn't on a individual level but rather a societal level if everyone believes that it has value and is worth using they will
Doesn’t matter, that’s how you end up with Zimbabwe trillion dollar bills that aren’t worth anything. You can’t just collectively agree to be rich and suddenly be rich unless you’ve eliminated scarcity (good luck)
That's a problem of over printing and if it's way over valued nobody would trust it and I never said it would be very likely that a new currency would be trustworthy especially without something to pin it's value to but it's the process that makes any money worth getting paid in
Their fantasy is that you can pay a bill by telling the utility company to collect the money from the treasury dept. which holds secret accounts created for us at birth. The obvious question is why BJW needs to go to court to lose over and over if he has access to umpteen millions in that secret account.
We should get utilities for free, but socialism is bad.
Free utilities within a reasonable amount to discourage waste and to stop billionaires from using the free utilities to make even more profit
BUT SOCIALISM BAD!
Is it bad to help the poorest people in our society and it would encourage saving resources if they know that a certain amount of it is free
SOCIALISM BAD!
Why
Dude, this was a joke.
Americans are the first to scream about how something is socialism when they’re talking about basic human rights.
But you were downvoting me so I had no reason to think you were joking
No, I didn’t.
I feel like this is similar to how Target monitors their repeat shoplifters and waits till it's a Felony amount and then they drop the hammer.
I feel we passed that long ago.
In about 6 months to a year this guy is going to have a monumentally bad time
I fully believe that this individual has not paid utility bills in 4 months.
I don’t fully believe he has them turned on though.
Oh absolutely not. The fact that they haven’t paid a bill is the literal only true thing in this screenshot.
They make shit up and try to sell their knowledge as part of the grift. They’re either full of shit grifters or they’re are delusional nut jobs
I don't know whether his information is legitimate or not but he's not selling it he explains it for free on his social media page. I've been following his post for a couple years so far and he seems to be pulling it off I have not tried any of his methods nor do I plan to but I do admit I am curious a lot of other people have utilized his methods with apparent success. I keep waiting for someone to post about how they just got their entire life repossessed but so far I haven't heard anything like that occurring
He pays no sales tax. Sure.
But like, every time he goes to the grocery store, what does that look like then?
Some weird tax-exempt-fraud thing? Long arguments with cashiers and managers? Shoplifting?
I think it's much more likely that he's just lying about everything.
There are lots of places that don't pay sales tax. If you're a grocery store, you probably run into someone buying supplies for a non-profit every day in busy places, or at the very least once a week.
They just have to hit a few extra buttons on the computer and input your TaxID so the purchase is calculated without the tax. Depending on the store, they probably have to have the shift manager come approve it.
But if this guy goes to the same grocery store all the time (very likely) then those people are probably so used to it they don't need to get a manager involved any more. But who know... everyone has a different policy.
In short, he's probably just lying so he can trick people into buying his "how to guide" but even if he really is doing this, he's breaking the law and it's just a matter of time before he gets caught.
At some point, some algorithm at the State or Federal IRS will think the totality of transaction tied to that TaxID number are suspicious and that will flag an audit. When that happens, this guy will owe all of the taxes at once, plus penalties, fees, fines, etc. He will be VERY lucky to avoid jail time.
Things that are not real for $500 dollars Alex
You mean 3 pieces of silver right?
wait til he finds out the 400k he "discharged" is now 800k after fees penalties and legal expenses...
He seems to be denying the court cases he otherwise admits… and that they have mostly hone against him, which he also admits.
Fake blue check who is a shill for; or, selling, SovCti services.
It's going to catch up to him when he least suspects it.
It drives me absolutely insane that California has not dropped the hammer on him for unlicensed practice of law with his insane horseshit Williams and Williams firm
He’s a liar. In this post he is lying.
He hasn’t paid for utilities for months but he doesn’t specify that the utilities are on!
Discharged is a weird choice of words… I suspect written off and sent to collections would be a more appropriate explanation.
Dude's doing the ultimate speedrun of regret.
Doesn't know how to spell "paid" but he's lecturing people on the law.
It's a house of cards that will eventually come crashing down. Hard.
“Discharged” ,i.e. “I’m still dodging paying it by sending pages and pages of gobbledegook but it’s cool because I’m super racist.”
His claims of not paying sales tax are proof hes lying lol, go to the gas station and try that shit 🤣 😂
If one could discharge their bills and never have to pay taxes so easily, it would be front-page news. It would spread like wildfire. And if true, why brag about it? Why not quietly collect your money and live under the radar? Of course, this is not true, and he's a blowhard who spews lies to shock and make money. This is how he makes a living, and some people are dumb enough to believe it. He'll eventually get in trouble and die off like all the other sov cit wannabe leaders. It is just a matter of time and how much trouble he'll get into.
Honestly, my money (the useless kind) is on him simply running a Madoff-like Ponzi scheme on the nitwits who pay their own useless money to take his courses and get his “legal advice” while he operates largely within the four corners of the law. Unless somebody has actually seen evidence of him succeeding in the magic he claims to be creating. He stays out of trouble and can write off anybody else having problems with a “well, he didn’t use the right ink….” kind of excuse if he’s ever challenged.
Nice that he has Internet access from Federal prison.
I wonder how long his prison sentence will be? We can check back in a few years.
Funny that he still puts CYA disclaimers on all the shit he sells
I mean he is just lying lol
Living in mom’s basement doesn’t incur a tax penalty, he is safe.
Dude is full of horsefeathers, LOL.
They didn't get Al Capone for running a criminal enterprise or murder or violating firearm laws or any of that shit. They got him for not paying his taxes. The tax man is like the creature in It Follows. It may be slow, but it will never, ever stop, and it will always get you in the end.
Everything this guy says sounds like the loss prevention team at target is just waiting for him to cross over into felony theft, at which point he will be so buried under bullshit that his fans not hearing from him will assume he achieved.. idk escape velocity? wtf is the plan anyway?
There was a guy in Nevada who had some crackpot theory about avoiding income taxes. He got in a lot of legal trouble with the government and lost. He appealed. His website listed why his arguments were correct and how the appeals court would surely correct the idiot district judge. I read the appeal brief his lawyers filed - they argued he was suffering severe mental illness and basically asked for pity.
Some of these guys lie all the way to prison.
It’s on the internet it must be true.
Can someone put this dude in prison and stop the madness?
Why don’t they complain about the taxes for cellular and internet services
The slow wheels of government ever turn forwards. He may not be on the list for doors to knock on tomorrow, but he is on the list
So is this some guy selling his “secret course” to teach people how to do all this? He’s sure claiming a lot.
One scary thing about being a field agent are the SCs. They try to convince you, and they do sound convincing. Also, guns.
"I am trading my time (my finite life) for work, so it's a trade, and not taxable."
I feel this. But trades are taxable.
If you trade your car (purchase price of 54k) for my car (purchase price of 50k), I have a 4k gain to report.
At Best Buy, we trade paper for TVs. My 900$ for your 500$ TV = $400 gain to BB.
Your services have no historical cost (basis), so trading 50k in labor in exchange for 50k worth of a paycheck is (0 basis - 50k) = 50k of taxable income.
Bros gonna be in prison soon lol
I was just thinking that prisons must suddenly have more internet access now, because that's the only way he's doing this shit.
Dream on dude
BJW has a FB page where he shares his info and methods for free. He is not trying to charge anyone for anything. I don't know if his information is valid or not but I have to admit I am curious. Apparently there's a whole community of people who interact on his Facebook page who use these methods to discharge a variety of things. So far if anything has come back on any of them they haven't complained about it on social media. I'm not sure how long this has been going on but I am curious to see how the saga unfolds
You don’t see the complaints because he deletes any and all comments that are negative and blocks anyone who even remotely disagrees with him. He even admits to doing this.
If you think BJ Williams is doing all this stuff for free, you’re crazy.
Even the paperwork he lists on his website can be yours for a “donation”; and he’s trying to tell the IRS that he’s not receiving “income” for his services.
He also charged a man named Henrik 117,000 so he could “represent” him in court and he lost. Henrik lost his farm, house and animals. Look it up. Brandon buries all that.
His methods are not the sovereign citizen stuff this is something else entirely
It’s called conforming definitions to a fallacy.
Have any of you checked out his page to see what's up with his methods? It's not as if he's charging for the info. What if he is on to something? Personally I'm rooting for him I don't understand why y'all are all being haters. It's not as if the taxes you pay are being used for any humanitarian purposes or making the world a better place. Just building bombs and body armor for jack booted thug federal agents. Most of y'all sound like a bunch of boot licking statist who love your oppressor
So, all the scholars, judges, attorneys and people are who actually, truly educated in the law are idiots who never saw any of this? Brandon interprets. He has never successfully used the law to win anything and has only avoided financial responsibilities. This is why I pose the question- what is it that these people exchange with their government and society if not monetary? They are served electricity and believe it should be free, essentially. They believe they should be able to have a car with a signature that means nothing. What are they giving to then receive? I’m not seeing anything good here.
