Nah but they’re pretty fucking dumb

    parent root
    10 points Plastic-Thanks7293

Not so dumb that they don’t pick up on their parent’s politics enough to assume their parent was upset about politics…? Do you guys think a six year old is a baby?

    parent root
    1 points Jessica_wilton289

When I was 6 I would totally just parrot my parents politics and say stuff like this. I had major beef with george bush when I was that young even though I knew nothing about him. To be fair tho that probably is in part to my parents being very political and getting upset at stuff in the news almost every day

Not so dumb as to not understand very basic politics and their parent’s political views

Sadly that notion is not too far off from reality. The educational system in the USA is despicable and numerous states are testing WAY BELOW grade level when it comes to reading and math skills. There are multiple schools in Baltimore city that do not have a single student reading or doing math at grade level- that’s a tragedy and those kids deserve better. So no, most 7 year olds being able to read and write? Sadly, not in 2023 apparently.

Writing I can maybe believe, reading I just don't believe you. You make things out to be worse than they are.

Look it up. Not a joke at all. Look up are Baltimore city schools reading and writing at grade level

It’s shocking but it’s true. They did a whole expose on it. The poor kids are treated like trash unfortunately

The sentence is a bit too articulate

    parent

Well she might not have quoted him DIRECTLY, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. Also, that’s definitely not too articulate for a 6 year old.
