  • “Almost qualified for the Olympics” by almost she means got out before they even went to qualifying

  • Gonna be honest, when I did powerlifting in high school the reaction from guys was either:

    1) get upset and try to compete with me on a PR basis to prove that they were better. Sometimes it was malicious and sometimes it was just their competitive side coming out

    2) flirt with me because it was somewhat rare for them to find a jacked girl that was just as passionate about getting gains as them (usually from guys I saw at my local gym or who were on the guy’s powerlifting team)

    3) shock/disbelief, usually followed by a mix of intrigue, respect, and intimidation (just imagine a visible “whoa, that’s cool but I should not mess with you” face)

Never had anyone ask that I just stop doing the thing I love because it hurts their feelings. It was the opposite actually, lots of people cheered me on when I qualified for state and they asked for details throughout the season every time I came back from a meet. That or they steered clear of me altogether

  • People who believe this never went to the gym, confirmed

  • Idk I do find this believable unfortunately ://

(Edit: I’m not claiming this post was saying misogyny doesn’t exist, I’m genuinely saying I do find this believable)

Misogyny? Yes. All the time unfortunately. This specific story? No way.

Exactly. No in the sub was saying misogyny didn't exist. But this story ( like many others on that sub) seem fake asf
