That and Remedy is making Max Payne who likely are keeping things closed off themselves. I highly doubt any of these devs knew of other titles in pre production. They clearly were focused on their own deadlines for gta vi. Also devs from Rockstar are always tight lipped on what they do because of NDA even former rockstar devs avoid talking much. So for my this sounds like bs
I remember a friend was showing me GTA Vice City. I bought a lot of the bad press about it… I was amazed that one of the early missions involved being hired by a business owner to start a tussle among a striking union, so the cops could come in and start bashing skulls. I liked seeing that (very basic) example of union busting in media.
Not that I’ve had much respect for Rockstar, or even felt like Vice City was amazing commentary otherwise, or really expected them to live up to any value, no matter how minimal, they expressed in their games.
IGN updated the post saying “Rockstar has indicated to IGN that the Discord channel in question included non-Rockstar employees, such as a game journalist, an employee of a rival developer, and multiple anonymous members, and that staff who discussed union membership favorably but in its view did not breach confidentiality obligations were not dismissed.”
A Rockstar Games spokesperson said in response to the IWGB: “As we suspected and as evidenced by the response to our statement, they have no idea who was in this Discord.”"
