He has also praised Anthropic and its goals with “AI Welfare” so yeah, clearly wants AI/AGI just with the right company.
He also has only like 22-23 videos and at least 7 of them are about AI2027, you know: the fanfic everyone took seriously? Also he has praised Yud and MIRI.
Did I mention I HATE this guy?

You ever wonder what these guys will do once the hype and doomerism wears off? I mean obviously the Rationalists, EAs and Longtermists will still be around but I do believe within the next few years they’ll fade back into obscurity…what is this guy (and others) gonna do? The doomerism is how this guy gets content and I think a lot of people are seeing the stupidity and baseless-ness of it so people are gonna stop treating AI like it’s a living creature. I really do wonder about this sometimes.
HOPEFULLY wisen up and change course to something that actually makes sense, but as you’ve pointed out, this guy has made seven videos about AI 2027. Which gives the impression he’s aware that he’s grifting or is going all in on this prediction, and in that case they usually adapt their grift and move the goalposts-I mean “update their timelines”
You know I was watching an Alex O’Connor (aka CosmicSkeptic) video today and in it he was having a debate with this guy about the Bible (It’s a hilarious video cause the guy clearly has no idea what he’s yapping about) and at one point Alex said: “You can’t just move the goalpost especially when you know you’re gonna (or still gonna) miss”. I think that quote perfectly summarizes how AI Hypers and Doomers act when you present facts and logic.
