I just have very little respect for characters that have:

  1. “bail out” moves. A bail out move is something like prominence revolt, wonder wing, flare blitz, DK side B, Rob side b, etc. (No, I don’t care that they’re punishable or that you can “see them coming”).

  2. Speed merchants. A speed merchant is a character who has game breaking speed, where their move will beat yours even if you saw it coming. This is like sonic, Fox, and especially Mythra right now.

  3. Frame data abusers. This is where Sakurai has a boner for certain characters and has made it to where sweaty little fucks can get ridiculous priority somehow. Mario, game and watch, etc. Why can DK throw out a string of 5 up airs and 5 bairs in the same jump? Why are certain characters gifted the most incredulous hitboxes known to man? Pythra dair, etc, etc. it’s just nonsense. And little fuckers love to choose these characters just to use those moves and then they think they’re good players. They aren’t! Cloud is probably the biggest example of this. Stop getting bailed out by back air and up b. It’s just so desperate that every time you start losing you throw out up b oos.

  4. Annoying characters. Yall will call this “subjective” but it’s really not. Sora. All the bowser jr variants. Mii sword/gunner. Roy and falcon bouncing off the fucking walls. Bayo throwing out those same boring combos. Ness and Lucas being little fucks. Samus and young link with projectiles fishing for fairs and grabs. Get out of here with your overtuned kits.

List of characters I respect: 1. Bowser. So heavy and slow. I genuinely only ever get hit by grounded up b. 2. Doc. Much more honest and gentlemanly than the carried Mario who isn’t hype. 3. Ganon. Self explanatory. 4. Falco. (Only bearable speed character) 5. Incin. 6. Marth/Lucina (but barely I hate swordie priority, why does your up tilt win) 7. Mac. 8. Pac man. (Annoying but I get it) 9. Shiek. Annoying but so weak. 10. Shulk (I guess) 11. Ice climbers 12. K rool (annoying but easy to beat) 13. Byleth (most respectable character, literally zero options that you can’t see coming by a mile and slow af) 14. Ike (least annoying swordie) 15. Palutena (could see how she’s annoying but she’s never really seemed broken to me) 16. Pit/Dark pit (extra jumps and side b but just not broken enough for disrespect) 17. Kirby (extra jumps and up b spam but balanced imo)

I want to put a couple fighting characters on the respect list but in high lvl elite they are unbearable. I also want to put DDD on the respect list but once again, in high lvl elite there’s a weird gordo/suck/spacing strat that I can’t abide by.

Everyone else, I’m sorry, but ESPECIALLY if you play in an egotistical manner, you’re fucking around in between stocks, if you’re dash dancing, whatever, you’re getting TEABAGGED!!! I hope you go cry to your mother afterwards too. Play a character that’s honest and then we’ll talk.

I’m 15.5 mil so i feel I have enough experience for this to be my opinion.

    I agree with this. People say hate the characters not the players, but players choose to play characters like assholes. The characters themselves are given the tools they need to be played in respectable ways, but people choose cheese and crap play styles because it's more rewarding than playing such a way

    I'll give an example of a character who I think is fairly dishonest and low-skill floor: Cloud. Yes, my own main.

    I'd prefer to play a Cloud mirror match against someone who mixes it up, keeps their Limit for mindgames, etc., rather than someone who spams bair and runs away to charge Limit.

    The character doesn't change, but the player and their specific playstyle is what makes the difference.

    Marth/Lucina - they're fine. Played annoying at low levels that makes it a drag, but they're fine.

    Pac man. - top tier BS zoner

    Shiek. Annoying but so weak

    Shulk - they only hop in place and spam

    Ice climbers- gimmicky but I get it

    K rool - carried online. Baby mode easy

    Byleth - the goat

    I've whooped other Pyra/Mythra as Robin before, its not about my main really. The post is just saying which characters they like or don't like basically, but those characters can't even move without the input of a person and not every person plays the exact same.     What does that even mean really, are you saying they are easy to use? There are a couple easy characters, Pyra and Mythra aren't the only ones. Playing well doesn't always guarantee a win either, luck is a factor in this game. A single lucky moment can turn the tables against your skills and resources.

  • Ike being the least annoying anything is a wild take. Sure he is low tier but 99% of them spam nair to a stupid degree and the punishability varies pretty wildly based on the matchup.

    Mac fucking sucks too, of course he is trash tier but the stupid as fuck gimmick doesn’t belong in the game. If you are getting your ass kicked for 99% of the match, having one big come back moment is trash character design.

    Pac-Man is also trash. He isn’t really all that different from Seamus. Running away to charge the projectiles and spamming various ones in your direction.

  • Byleth is my main (or rather, my favourite among the 5 I consistently play) so I'm glad to see her on the list. I disagree about seeing every option coming though, she (I prefer the female model) has a lot of really sneaky options (or at the very least they have been very reliable with every match I'm in) and the fact that you can cancel her bow attack is my favourite mind game

  • What about Link? Personally, I don't like that style and archetype of the "slow zoner who just throws his garbage." I like to be proactive and more aggressive (when the opportunity arises). I would just say that Young Link is annoying ,in my experience i think adult Link and Toon Link are more neutral and punish and not only spam (that even a good Young Link cooks) but i guess you are talking about the average Young Link on elite smash.
