I am so fucking sick and tired of being shit on by people way fucking better than me. I’m stuck at 2-3 mil range online and all my matches I either get completely shit on or I take a huge shit on whatever dumb fucks there are below 2 mil. I’m not kidding. My matches are blowouts where either I’m clearly fighting a kid who’s never played before or I’m fighting super sweats and smurfs who absolutely annihilate me. Someone please tell me why the fuck it’s like this because I’m not having fun I’m just getting tilted. Is there anyone at my level in this entire god forsaken player base or am I doomed to fight the unemployed and get the shit kicked out of me???

  • Losing isn't fun, you'll get your shit kicked in no matter what gsp you're at. Take a break if the losing gets too much.

Try to understand why you're losing. Practice what you're not good at.

  • 2mil GSP tells me you could benefit from watching mechanic videos and speeding up your movement.

    start here

  • Its so hard to find people parallel to your skill level :( especially when youre just having fun against people who play like gsp is life and death

  • My DK is at 15.76m at the moment, and I still get my shit kicked in. It’s the nature of the game, but same GSP or not you’ll be fighting people with a lot more play time than you since the game is 7 years old. Watch YouTube and people who play your character and break down how they pilot the character and are able to move around quickly

  • There's probably something that you're overlooking. It took me some time to figure that I need to shield and tech way more.

Try some other characters maybe? Try them out first against CPU to know all their moves well and only after this go in quick play

you learn to shield and tech way more only for everyone to start grabbing you and hitting you with dash attacks while you're teching. Fuckin hate ground teching. It's a dumbass mechanic. Why should I be punished for doing something that requires timing?

  • Install HDR Remix, you'll enjoy it and rediscover the true essence of smash.

  • I can say lol I quit after one too many frustrations and I do miss it from time to time but I ultimately think I’m better for it pun not intended

  • Take a replay when you lose and watch it back. You'll be amazed at the mistakes you can spot easily if you're not occupied with not dying.

Try to identify habits that cause you to take damage, and then try breaking them one at a time.

Also, get very comfortable with your main. Once you have things down to muscle memory you can start watching your opponent instead of yourself.

  • Unironically, I would say you might want to consider taking a break from online and thinking about training offline against an amiibo. It sounds laughable, but if you follow an amiibo-raising website (preferably by raising an amiibo of the character you main), it can really help show you things that are possible for your character to do, and tech that will help you improve your game. You'll also improve alongside your figure, even if you don't feel like you are. If you can't afford the actual figures, look into the NFC cards since they are much cheaper.

Note: amiibos should NEVER be your end-all, be-all form of training, as they simply can't replicate absolutely everything you'd need a training partner to. However, I speak from personal experience when I say they can help. I'm now sitting at nearly 15mil GSP across my top 3 main characters, and I've learned quite a lot from fighting my amiibo versions of those characters. I trained them to be Raid Bosses (primarily using the website "Exion Vault"), so now they've each gotten to a point where they each usually 2-stock or 3-stock me, and I can't best a single one of them anymore.

Again, don't take this as me saying that this is the #1 most helpful thing that you should absolutely do before anything else and it's the most important or only form of training that you need, because it simply is not. All I'm saying is that training amiibo can REALLY help you become better and learn both tech and matchup knowledge, sometimes in ways that may prove too difficult for you to learn online.

  • This game really is ass. It's not fun at all. The only fun part about it is the moment you win a match. Everything else is varying degrees of frustration and annoying bullshit. The whole thing boils down to making your opponent more frustrated than you are, so they lose focus and revert to punishable habits. What a toxic nightmare. It's literally the only thing that gets me screaming and punching my desk mad. Every other game I have no issues losing. I'll start getting annoyed but never losing my shit, and it takes a long time. Meanwhile this game only takes 15-20 mins of losing to be at full rage mode.

Even winning isn't fun a lot of the time if you're playing against someone who's already beat you several times. Feels more like a fluke especially since you got out by the skin of your teeth. Because I don't want to just win a match, I want to be better than everybody I play against. Why? I don't fucking know. I wish I did so I could stop getting angry and just have fun like I do when I play with my irl friends.

  • The classic only unimployed people are cracked at this game its been out for 7 years...
