WHAT'S UP.

As promised, we've given the Sub some new life. Literally.
I've purged our inactive mods and added a whole new team that is passionate about the Subreddit. They have been super active already! I'll let them introduce themselves in the comments if they so choose.

Over the past month or so, we've also been discussing the rules and have given them a few updates, effective immediately. Here they are:

  • Rule 1 has been reworded to "Be Kind and Accepting to One Another"

  • Rule 4 - we've removed the "No foul or graphic content or language" clause. Swear to your heart's content. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND that we still have the clauses in Rule 1 that prevent derogatory language. Swear, don't slur.

  • Rule 6 - we've added a clause that requires users to mark posts spoilers for games that Smash Bros characters appear in. There were some Tears of the Kingdom spoilers some months back here. We'd like to prevent that in the future.

  • We've added a new rule, Rule 9 - Meme Rules. In an effort to elevate the quality of posts in the sub, we've added two new days: Tier List Tuesdays and Fighters Pass Fridays.
    Tuesdays will be the only day you can post tier list posts and memes, and Fridays will be the only day you can post Fighters Pass, "Characters I want in Smash," etc. posts. There will likely be more of these days in the future as more meme formats arise.

If you see any posts or comments violating these new rules, especially our new Rule 9, please report them!

  • These rules r great and much needed. I ended up leaving the sub before as it was overrun with low quality questions and annoying series of posts, but now I've decided to rejoin and hopefully the new mod team can make the sub as great as it should be. Thanks for the update! Appreciate it

    Also the pinned questions thread, I really hope that can be enforced more strongly as my feed was just filled with low quality google questions in the past when following the sub. Can we please stop posts from people asking "how do i unlock Olimar?" and the brain-rotting "wHo ShOuLd i MaIn?!!??1!?"

  • Hi, i'd want to ask for the mod team why was this post removed, i've heard that it was cause of rule 3, but i've read that rule countless times, and i don't see this post being non-smash related, or political stuff, or irl issues, the only thing i see that may have been misunderstood was the "post must be related to smash beyond the title" part, cause someone from the mod team might have thought that "oh this person has only put smash pngs on the pics as an excuse to post it on this sub" but the phrases i've wrote are actually related to the character on the PNG, therefore i think this shouldn't have been banned, i'm not mad at any of you, i just want to be informed

  • I had a question: for Rule 9, are you saying that only Tuesday can we post memes related to Tier lists (and we could post memes, not tier lists, on any other day)? Or are ALL memes confined to Tuesday now?

  • Can we still post Tier Lists that have nothing to do with the gameplay of Smash Ultimate itself outside of Tuesdays? Like, for one, home series or characterization headcanons i.e. "What each character who happens to be playable in Smash Ultimate would do if _____" and "Every fighter's favorite _____"

    (I am not referring to mains either, but the characters themselves)

    The ones that aren't Smash Ultimate Tier Lists in the competitive scene sense, but use the Tier List template to sort the Smash roster into categories in a convenient established format instead of having to make the image manually by drawing or dragging pngs around

    (I'm sorry if this is a convoluted question, but it is relevant still)
