• Awwwwwww this is amazing, this is how the communities should be. Just celebrate the amazing games we got!

This exactly! Why do we have to fight? Why can’t we just celebrate each other! The world would be a much brighter place if we could.

  • Cool art

The amount of negativity I've been through recently online was quite a lot. I'm so glad to actually see something positive for once.

This is literally my reaction right now.

    Wtf are you talking about?

"This is literally my reaction right now"

But I'm seeing a ton of people clown on E33 for winning. Yeah sure it didn't deserve certain categories but others it did.

  • this i approve

  • I do love how this GOTY was mostly a girl's night, most of the top nominees had female protagonists :)

Am I wrong or didn’t only half of the nominees have female protagonists, not most?

Kcd - male protagonist Death stranding 2: male protagonist E33: female protagonist Silksong: female protagonist Hades 2: female protagonist DK bananza: depends if you count pauline or DK

You're literally right, but for some reason only the girls got more representation in that aspect

  • Honestly. I really don't know why people are soo upset that silksong lost. Sure I'd love to see it win too but.... Expedition 33 is truly a good game and I respect that. We'll get the award in 2035 when the next dlc for silksong drops.

tbf a lot of the issues arent E33s fault is TGA like their definition of an indie game is not the same as most peoples it would seem not to mention I dont think ive seen a single person who has said E33 should have won RPG of the year it should have been KCD2

Only thing see anyone rightfully upset about is E33 taking both indie spots.

That was just shitty and they should have refused the award. Any other game could have won and it would be fine.

  • Idk what you all are talking about. Donkey kong bananza won remember?

  • I honestly wasn’t mad that E33 winner a lot of categories or GOTY, the ONLY thing that Im mad for it’s for E33 winning Indie of the Year and only this

  • Not the Titanfall community.

They're about ready to murder Geoff.

    3 awesome badass women

The evil and intimidating titanfall fan (they’re justified for the murderous intent toward Geoff)

  • This type of art makes me feel better about the game awards. While I wanted Silksong to win, I still have to applaud Expedition 33 for earning game of the year. We’ll get them next time when we get DLC for Silksong

  • The best thing for any quality indie is other indie (or indie-adjacent, which some people would say suits E33 better) titles to get recognition. The rising tide lifts all boats, after all, and recognition like that for one can and will lead to more people discovering what else is in store in the indie space

Besides, I can practically guarantee you that the devs at Sandfall have been playing Silksong and Hades II, just like how at Supergiant they would've been playing E33 and Silksong.

All in all, this is just a very longwinded way of me saying that this year was a victory for smaller teams and those that dared to dream

  • The special Hades II story when they literally had to patch it to be less bad:

(Hades II is amazing but the story is the worst part. Which is really a shame but they kinda wrote themselves into a corner by putting real genuine stakes into a story that still has to be replayable after the credits roll)

Making a sequel without Zag in it seemed a strange choice and killed all interest.

SS had a character set up from the first game.

I mean Zag is in it. He's not the playable character, but he is notably present during the main story. The problem isn't that it ain't about him, the problem is they wrote it so it kind of is anyway.

This was part of the patch, so they did make it less about him so Melinoe actually has the agency in her own goddamn game. Instead the weird part is that the Agent Of Change doesn't end up doing anything to change the status quo (from the first game).

  • Between these games, that’s 3 female character-led games as finalists this year. And then Yotei, which was well recognized, too. But the best part is tahqy none of them called attention to this fact, which is the right way to do it, IMO. Much preferable to games that pander by marketing themselves around being female-led. I hope more studios take note—men don’t mind female games. Just don’t make that the point.

  • Peace and love on planet earth

  • Women👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 very cool very awesome

  • Let me ruin the mood and remind y'all that Hornet's height depicted here is non-canonical.
She is approximately 45-50 cm tall. Otherwise W art

I don't remember any lore about canon scale. Where is the number coming from?

iirc it's the rain drops in the city of tears that tell us how big they are

That seems.... weak? It's not even rain, it's leakage from the lake, so it might not even be at the same scale. And even if it would be the same size as rain drops, I think the rain is just as big as it needs to be to look compelling. The art is not portraying the scale of a single drop as much as the texture of rain.

yeah, I never agreed with it but I think it's the only thing people have for scaling

not how water works. surface tension means even if it's dripping throigh little cracks the water will cling onto the ceiling until it's drop sized

    No this art is accurate
