I think it's to keep the cool name of "Voltvyrm" without the lore implications of calling it "Wyrm"
In the lore, "Wyrm" and "Weaver" are the two godlike bug species. Which I think is neat because worms and spiders aren't bugs in the same way most other bugs are bugs. There's more to that but idk I'm not a bugologist.
Are Weavers particularly godlike? The Wyrms can straight up turn into gods, but the Weavers are just a bunch of spiders GMS uplifted. More divine than most, but FS did feel lied to for a reason
Honestly the name sounds like someone tossed a thunder bolt at a worm and called it a day, but it weirdly works. Silksong bosses always feel like they were named at 3am after no sleep
I was hyped af when I saw that Voltwyrm was the last remaining boss which I missed and were able to beat in Act 2. I basically imagined massive electric dragon. You can't imagine my disappointment when I got to him. Only Khann boss fight could approach that level of disappointment.
Khann deserves more slander ngl, he’s such a bum yet you have to fight through three gauntlets back-to-back just to unlock a shortcut to his secret, fourth gauntlet
I spent hours on the gauntlets only to beat him in two tries because he only had, like, four easy attacks
Tbf, I think that's exactly the reason why Khann is so easy. Still a terrible reason though especially because his design compared to Voltwyrm is straight up fire.
Plus I didn't mind his gauntlet. I kinda wish there was similar progression towards Karmelita and Nyleth like in Verdania and Coral Tower.
Well, a kingdom's military strength lies in the army, not the ruler. Makes sense that the actual troops would pose more of a threat than a 1v1 against a ruler.

What? Why? There is literally nothing about the Fayforn that is similar to the Mantis Lords/Sisters of Battle, and especially not Winged Nosk.
They gave wrong examples. The actual examples would be sly and the nailart brothers.
You never actually fight them in game, but you can have a bout with them in the pantheons.
I imagine the same thing might be possible for Faydown. The only problem is, her model is waay too big. Idk how they would design that bossfight.
Radiance and GMS are both big.

"More divine than most" is probably the better way to put it. Demi-gods would probably be the most accurate.
Keep in mind that the Godseekers considered Marmu a god, so the bar is pretty low.

There isn't much more to do with the idea of the coral tower for his moves
