I wear my horseshoe and I greatly prefer it to shaved, getting it barbered every couple of weeks, though I understand I’m in the minority. You can always try it, and shave again if you don’t care for it…
I think more people would wear it if we were all NW6+. I still have plenty of thin hairs all over my top unfortunately. This disproportions of the hair thickness is personally off to me.
Hi i have decided 4 weeks ago to stop shaving, but am new to the need of going to a barber. What do you tell the barber when you go? Do they actually take it seriously or like just do something half assed?
I‘ve known my barber for awhile, so I had no real worries, there. I would suggest looking for an older barber, or one who specializes in classic cuts. I usually get it tapered, and just tell him to taper the sides, then however I want it in the back, tapered or blunter, rounded or blocked. I usually get an arch over the ears. Sometimes in the summer I’ll get it faded, whatever... I just treat it like I’m a fully haired guy getting a haircut. If the barber presses you to buzz or shave, they’re not the right barber for you. Some will clean up the dome for you, if you want…I usually do that myself, but you can ask… good luck!

I definitely think thats what im going to do this winter. Ready to embrace the horseshoe look myself
You look ginger, too…it’s a shame to shave all that color off!
Mostly my beard is my hair is dirty dark blonde/red
I thought this was going to say, "It's a damn shame you're a ginger, so it doesn't work"
No! Never….

I definitely agree, given my family though most end up at NW6-7 so im definitely headed towards that completely
Im NW7 and I actually shave the dome myself, to get rid of all the wispy, scraggly remnants, so my remaining fringe is pretty crisp…
I need to figure out a routine for that. So its even 😅

Thanks! I will have to check
Good luck! I really prefer wearing my horseshoe to shaving it. I hope it works out for you, as well…
I wear my horse shoe all the time and im 37, balding men should not be ashamed to keep their hair. It’s part of the aging process
😂
What does that mean?
Not to dissuade you if that's what you want, but you have a really good clean and trimmed look going here.
Definitely but the top is pretty thin. For winter I was thinking of maybe letting the sides grow out
Winter is do what you want season, definitely the time to try it out!
Definitely looking forward to sharing. Its a great look.
